I was very pleased with the way we played to end the second quarter. Our three-quarter court press was giving Johnston City fits.

The third quarter has been our quarter all year. Our press really caused them fits.

We did a very nice job against their press early. Then they dropped out of it and started giving us trouble in the half court. We just stood around too much in the second quarter.

The better team won. Johnston put forth a great effort on our home floor. I was disappointed we came out in the first quarter and didn't play the defense I expected us to play, but hats off to Johnston. I thought a number of their kids really played their roles well.

Middleton is an excellent basketball team. They did a great job on Weddle. In turn, our guys played well defensively. We went to our full-court press and half-court man-to-man in the third quarter when we were down by 11.

We had that one quarter where we were off. I thought we played pretty well, but we couldn't get rebounds at the end, and the fourth quarter killed us. They were getting all the rebounds and making shots, and they got us big-time with the press in the fourth quarter.

We just had a terrible start. It's hard to say what happened. It was on their court, and they do have some good shooters. But at the same time there is no excuse for giving up 25 points in one quarter, and no excuse for one kid having four 3's in the first quarter.

Oakdale looked great in the first quarter. They came out and didn't miss a shot. But once we were able to set our press up, we made them turn the ball over. The press took over in the second quarter.

We held them down in the second half and it showed. They (the thunderbirds) played their three-quarter court press to slow us down, but there was only a couple of times when we did. We continued to attack well and hit the shots we needed.

We saw really good results in the first quarter but we just saw weakness at the end of the quarter, so we are giving conservative, and what we think is a prudent, approach in the next quarter,

We played a poor first quarter. But we came right back and played a great second quarter and rolled from there. It gave us a chance to play a lot of subs in the fourth quarter.

We took the second quarter off. It's like we took a vacation. We played an excellent first quarter and an equally as bad second quarter. Overall I'm proud of the way we played against a school from a bigger (Southeastern) conference.

We played a zone press in the third quarter and got our lead back up. Harlem got a lot of her points off the press. Troy has a nice team and their full-court pressure at times frazzled us. Going into the fourth quarter, we were down by five, but could never put together a good run to take over the lead. But I am pleased with the way the girls played and with how our season turned out.
