We became friends before I'd won many games and before he'd had many hits.

That 15 hits, you should win ball games with 15 hits. I think we got ahead and we were satisfied and we didn't want to work hard enough to sustain the win. We got a little lazy defensively and, all of sudden, we're in trouble.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

We played well, we just did not get it done. We needed to make a few better pitches and get a few key hits. The last two games we got the hits and the plays when we needed them.

As much as our performance did not meet our expectations, the seniors were still able to play their last games with some of the best friends we will have for life. There is not better way to compete with a bunch of your closest friends.

We became friends before we began broadcasting the games together, and that friendship only solidified in the past six years. I got to work closely with one of my best friends. That was a special situation.

When the (expletive) hits the fans, you really know who your friends are.

We should have done better than winning one out of three games here. We didn't get some hits when we needed them, and we gave up some hits when we didn't need to.

I had a lot of friends and family here. It's nice to get a couple of hits.

We had our chances. We're not getting the key hits. Overall, for four games, our defense was pretty steady. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that we are real young and are going to take our lumps. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. Hopefully next year we can win these (close) games.

Once he hits that, all previous games he coached are counted. It's a long-term policy. Once you've surpassed the minimums, we don't presume to go in and edit specific games.

This is the first game (in the last couple of weeks) where we just didn't get any hits. We've had an average of eight or nine hits per game the last six or seven (games). We've hit the ball. Young kids are overwhelmed by situations. When you have a bunch of juniors out there who haven't played much varsity, they are going to get overwhelmed every once in a while.

I know a lot more of my friends are actually watching games that have never watched before. I'm getting a lot more reaction now. People really think it's fun to watch the games.

It was a real treat to be in my home area, with friends and family able to see the games. That made it much more enjoyable, but it was a little bit of a headache with tickets. There were always the friends who just thought we got tickets for free. We got two free, and that was it. Usually, I needed eight to 20 each week. Collecting them [from teammates] and sorting them out was tough. Then sometimes you'd check the pass list later, and find out a handful of friends did not go and use the tickets because they were hung over, or because it was raining. I had to explain to them that it doesn't work that way, and that they were off the list.

Almost all of Lacy Howard's hits have all been RBI hits. I think she has more RBIs than hits. That's very clutch for us and I am very pleased to get a lift out of her.
