I called right away. I saw that they played (eventual state champion) Assumption very well last year, and we thought it would be a solid game.

I think they've learned how to be competitive at the next level. They know that they have to come in and play a full 80 minutes. They saw what an eventual state champion did last year, and I think it gives them an idea as to what it takes to advance to states beyond regions.

I'm searching a little bit for answers. I think Luke has earned the spot. I was very impressed with the way he played in the midst of a gut-wrenching game. I thought he played really hard, I thought he played steady, solid. He didn't just get that position by default. He got it because he's played well.

Almost every year, it's what happens in the consolations that determines the eventual team champion. That will probably be the case this weekend.

The goal from a year ago today was to be a state champion. We were confident and relaxed. The focus was always on (Colin) being a state champion. He saved his best for last and he earned this. His name will go on our Wall of Champions.

The coaches want a two-time state champion. As a freshman, they thought I could be a two-time state champion. I'm trying to fulfill their dreams, not only mine.

I thought we played a solid first period. We played a solid game all-around.

I thought it was a good game. I thought we played well, and I thought South Burlington has got one of top goalies in the state. Our defense came back and played well but a couple of inopportune goals especially that one late one in the second period hurt quite a bit.

We like our chances this year. Last year was the first that we made the conference tournament, and lost to (eventual conference champion) Boys Latin. So far, we've won against everyone in the conference.

Other than that second inning our pitching was pretty solid. I thought defensively we played a real solid game, making only one error. When it's this cold defense is a little tougher than your usual day.

I just thought she played a solid, solid game.

He was really solid this weekend. It is nice to see him progressing and playing well at this time of year. He's young and he's learning, but that is gonna be good for his confidence the way that he played this weekend. There is no doubt about that and the guys in front of him played a really solid game.

His understated charm and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy and captivating. I thought when we played when we could, we played a real smart game. We've got some guys who were a little bit behind and drew hooking penalties and I don't think the way the game was called helped us.

For a solid two and probably 2 1/2 quarters I thought we played pretty solid basketball. I just wish that in some of these games- and tonight's a perfect example-that we wouldn't let things get so far away from us in the end. This was a much closer and way more competitive game than that final score shows.

Every district game is critical and will prove to be exciting. We were highly competitive in every game last year even beating former state champion Dallas St. Mark's.
