As there hasn't been any new modern architecture built in the historic center of Rome since Mussolini's time I think the Ara Pacis Museum became a lightening rod for issues that were not directly related to the building itself.

Rome has not seen a modern building in more than half a century. It is a city frozen in time.

The history and architecture of this restored 1845 synagogue, open as a historic site by the Jewish Museum of Maryland, sums up some of the dramatic changes in American Judaism and in American taste before and after the Civil War. Built for the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation in Greek-temple design, it has served many congregations, not all Jewish.

We are delighted that the museum is coming to the Empire State Building. This is the center of all the great cartoonists, and the museum belongs in New York City.

The building that has been the museum's home since 1938 was never designed for that purpose. It was originally a cavernous convention center and hockey rink that despite the outstanding efforts of museum staff and volunteers over the years, has been a difficult space in which to produce exhibits.

It's a historic building, and it looks phenomenal. It's a magnificent building, which will be used as a community center.

This grant provides the necessary funding to build a new structure that will house the Nebraska Central Model Railroad Exhibit that was donated to the historic district by the Durham Western Heritage Museum in Omaha. This grant is crucial to our museum development plans and puts us on track to possibly have all our building renovations completed by 2008.

Built in 1763, it is the oldest surviving synagogue in North America. Still in use, the building combines an intimate elegance with Classical grandeur in the best tradition of Georgian architecture. It is also a National Landmark, the highest designation given to an American building.
