When I retire I'm going to spend my evenings by the fireplace going through those boxes. There are things in there that ought to be burned.

The bathtubs and the fireplace were the only things left in the building and, at first, only the fireplace worked. Even the doors and light fixtures were missing.

The way the Michael Ray Charles piece complements the fireplace takes my breath away. We knew we had to pick simple artwork that didn't compete with the fireplace. It's really a fine balance. The heads stick out like a bouquet and play off of the pot belly of the fireplace. It is playful, but not competing.

We do not spend a lot of time together in the evenings. Sometimes we divide and conquer. We do try to eat meals together as much as possible and go to church together.

It's no longer enough for a fireplace to warm the room. Consumers want a fireplace that warms the soul.

Once you have mantle and fireplace installed you do interesting accessories above or on the fireplace, like the lamps, sconces. These lend a whole different feel to the room when you're done.

Our evenings were very strong. There's an element out there that wants to spend money at that time. It's crazy if we don't stay open.

The living room actually turned out more elegant than we planned. Dan built bookcases on either side of the fireplace, added trim to the mantel and installed an electric fireplace.

I don't get bored when I'm working hard. And they've been working me hard. I view bored and burned out as two different things. The burned out feeling comes from doing so many shows and so much dialogue. It's like stuffing yourself. But, that goes with the territory. It lasts for a few months and then lets off. I'm not burned out, however.
