We provide our Internet banking customers with a matrix card, and they must have it with them each time they sign on. The matrix card is unique to every customer, and the digits they are required to input changes every time they get to the sign-on screen. With the Open Solutions Internet banking system offering, only the customer knows the actual matrix values that were issued.

I shudder to think that these people are doing their stock portfolios or electronic banking or buying things with credit cards on their computer over the Internet while their computer security has been completely compromised and are completely owned by these hackers, ... These people have something bad in their machines and they probably don't even realize it.

Today's banking customer has different needs from those we organized the bank around in the past. Each month customers now make 5.5 million calls to our service centers, and log on 9 million times to do their banking online. This has had a transformational effect on our business, and we have to manage the bank accordingly.
