Preparation is the name of the game. It will take some time, but we are well on the track to doing that.

We have a clock for each team, ... What we try to
point out is you need to use every second to get ready for the opportunity to
play a ball game because you only have, in this day and age, eleven
opportunities, and next year begins twelve. You have to make sure you use your
preparation time to get ready for that and most especially use your preparation
time throughout the entire year so you're at your best in that last game. That's
just something we believe in terms of preparation and something that we talk
about and obviously have.

I thought our players handled it pretty well. they practiced hard and practiced fast. We got better. We were able to come back last night and get a game preparation practice in for Oregon State and that went really well. You like the preparation time, but you also like getting into a game week rhythm. It is hard to keep practicing against each other all the time.

Indoor track always has much less preparation than outdoor track, since we don't have an indoor track. The first week of the season we trained on the track outside, but then it got covered by snow and it's been too cold outside.

It would have been nice to get another opportunity to improve my time on the track and to have another look at the course in preparation for next year.

That is a long time for players to be around without playing a game. [Game preparation] comes at a very good time. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. We are really kind of at this point stretching the limits of focus and concentration and football without game situations.

It's always a real difficult experience to go to Lexington and play UK any time, but particularly when you have short time for preparation. They have an extra day (of preparation) coming off a Tuesday game. We have our backs to the wall. Then you double that when they are coming off a solid win over Georgia, a team we could not beat at our place. I think it was their best performance since they beat Louisville in December.

Ideally, I'd like to have some more time. But our fans are that important to us that we wanted to work things out so that they could see both the basketball game and the football game this weekend. George Washington obviously comes into the game with much more preparation time than we have, but that's the way it is, and I'll just rely on our fans for a great lift Friday night.

With Mark it was all about winning. His whole game was channelled and focused that way. His off-ice preparation, his on-ice preparation. I don't think anybody ever did it better in the history of the game.

This was a very unique situation. It was the first time I've ever heard of a conference game being played this way. You hate to see anyone lose a game like this. I think if it were up to Mike and I, we'd just say 'Let's leave this thing a tie and settle it later.' It was uncharted water for us in game preparation.

This game was a great preparation for the tournament. We got a little taste of the MAC and how physical they play before we play a more important game in the sectional. It was a really good preparation for us and I'm glad we played it.

Even with Fordham and Lipscomb, we've been talking about taking it one game at a time. We've got a stretch here now that we really need to lock in to every single game with preparation. I just like the mentality of our team right now and I like the demeanor.

I would like to be able to have more preparation time as a coach. The less prep time you have the more you leave the game to chance. The more likely an underdog is going to win that sectional final or a team less drilled in scouting and fundamentals might get through if you have less time to prep.

I get confidence through preparation. I feel great about our preparation. At the end of the day, you have to do what's best for your time. We'll be prepared.

He struggled with the track a bit. It was a pretty game effort. He's still a little green. It was only his second start and that first one was a long time ago. I'm pretty proud of him because he was struggling with the track and he could have given up, but he didn't.
