The Eagles told Terrell, the arbitrator, and the media that Terrell would be paid for the balance of this year when he returned from his suspension, and now they are instead withholding his pay. We therefore filed this grievance both for his protection and that of players generally, who deserve to have their CBA . . . enforced as written.

We understand that this signing will open the door for scrutiny. I know and Terrell knows that much is expected of our players on and off the field. I have always believed in taking advantage of opportunity. Terrell is well known for what he can do. This may really work and work great for the Dallas Cowboys.

I do want to make it clear that this decision is the result of a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time, during which Terrell had been warned repeatedly about the consequences of his actions. Even with the activities that took place last week, we gave Terrell every opportunity to avoid this outcome.

We made the plays. Every ground ball, we were fortunate enough to have it right at us. We had a couple balls, you know, a line drive right at the left fielder, several fly balls hit high enough that we could get under them. Some balls definitely went our way tonight.
