en It was such a contrast between halves. The first half they had us on our heels and it seemed like the ball was in their court. In the third quarter it turned and you could see the difference. We started getting loose balls and were able to run.

en We always seemed to be a step slow. They came up with loose balls and really started attacking us. ... We were on our heels.

en We were too passive in the opening quarter, but turned things around in the second quarter. Early on, we were not securing loose balls or looking to attack offensively.

en We were up five or six and then there was that sense of urgency that seniors feel and Copeland and Whitney stepped up. We always seemed to be a step late going for loose balls and then they started attacking us and had us on our heels.

en I thought we played four solid quarters of basketball. We started out with a great first quarter. I thought we handled their half-court trap very well. Kenneth (Bradley) got loose for some big points down low. He scores nine of his 16 in the game right there. I thought we did a better job of looking up the floor and being patient about moving the ball from point to the wing and hitting the middle.

en It was definitely a tale of two halves. They came out really strong in the first half, playing real physical and winning most of the 50-50 balls, while we didn't play with any energy. But we turned it around in the second half and had a number of good chances, including one off the post, but similar to last year we just couldn't put one away.

en I think defensively we picked things up. We scrapped for loose balls. They beat us to loose balls in the first half. I thought down the stretch, we negated that.

en We turned the ball over. We couldn't get the loose balls, and they took the rebounds away from us. I think they were more active.

en I'm not sure how it started, but the group that started the second half just exploded on the defensive end of the court. There was a stretch of over a minute where Aledo didn't get the ball across half court. It set the pace for the rest of the game.

en We played really well in the second half, except for those last few minutes. It started with the last four minutes of the first half, when we started getting hands on balls and turned defense into offense.

en I've never played with balls that are getting that big. It's as simple as that. I thought the balls in Rotterdam were quite heavy till I came here. You know, the court's definitely, you know, it's a little bit rough out there. That's always going to chop the balls up a little bit more than a smoother court, such as a US Open hard court. But, you know, there's no reason why the ball should get, you know, that heavy.

en Playing half-court defense doesn't mean you can't be aggressive. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. We proved that. Every loose ball in the second half we got.

en Most of it's about the quickness involved. Just the activity to the ball. Loose balls, tip-ins, all those little things make such a difference in a game. And that's a matter of seconds, and I think a lot of that is about energy.

en At halftime, we talked about controlling the glass. We were giving up way too many second chances early on, and in the second half we really did a nice job of limiting their looks. That was probably the best thing we did tonight. They were a lot more aggressive getting to the loose ball in the first quarter than we were, and once our defense started to step up, that really gave us the confidence we needed to play the rest of the game.

en Defensively we started to zero in on guys (in the second half). We just had to do a better job of (identifying) shooters. Offensively, in the second half we got our act together and started moving the ball. More guys started scoring and that made a big difference.
