Matt, of course, worked three years for us as a graduate assistant and I am well aware of his background and talents. I always try and keep an eye on young, talented coaches, and it was an easy decision to hire Matt. He'll hit the ground running with his previous experience at Northwestern and with me. We're all excited to have Matt back as a part of our staff.

Matt is a very special player. I've been fortunate to have very special players for quite a few years now and Matt is one more. Matt doesn't need much coaching. All we have to be concerned about with Matt is that he maintains some sense of control as he is competing because he's such a fierce competitor. He'll do anything to win, he's just an awful nice kid to coach.

Four years ago we began rebuilding our lives without Matt. We felt part of the system failed for Matt and for us ... I know of many parents in the state of Michigan who are in the same place we are.

I did not make a conscious effort to go over to Matt or park near Matt. I got out of the car and Matt walked over to my car. I was angry and I showed it.

Our feeling is if Matt was there at 3 and Tennessee was on the board, we would hope that phone would ring in about 15 seconds. That is the vote of confidence that we would be looking for. Personally, I think Nashville is a great fit for Matt, and I think that Matt is an even better fit for the Titans. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Any decision about Matt's contract will have to include something for Matt if there's anything in it for the Vikings. Otherwise, the discussion is moot.

We are excited that Matt chose to return to Charlotte and continue to build upon last year's start, ... Matt added several dimensions to our team with his long-range shooting, toughness, strong work ethic, rebounding and ability to get to the free throw line. It's comforting to have a guy like Matt Jones out there. We still believe in running the football, it's just that defenses are overpopulating the line of scrimmage so much to stop Matt, they're giving us some 1-on-1s, and we have to take what the defense gives us.

We've only played 10 or 12 shows with Matt. Markku left a month and a half, maybe two, ago. We met Matt through Chris, our drummer. They both come from up north (the Bay area), and Matt was playing in a band called Tsunami Bomb. He was great, so we called him in.

The game at Washington allows us the opportunity to bring (junior center) Jason Mgebroff back home, as well as graduate assistant Matt Logie ... We always try and get our student-athletes one trip back home during their career, and I know Jason will be very excited to play in that game.

Matt is one of the most talented drivers in the garage and he'll always hold a special place in our organization, having helped to bring us our first Cup championship in 2003. It's very assuring knowing that he will be staying on with us and I know that the first goal on his agenda is to take that championship trophy back.
