We came out of this trip with a lot of confidence. It was good to go up there and be as competitive as we were. We had a chance to take both games, but we're happy with a split.

If you come on this Texas trip and get two wins, you're doing really well. If you get a split, that's good too. We got the split and now we can go home, get some rest and then come back and get ready for another road trip up to Alva.

This came at a good time. We've had a tough first four games, that's for sure. We're young but we're getting better every day. Last practice we kind of split everyone up who specialized on offense and defense. Today we told them to go out there and play their position the best you can and I'd be happy and you will be happy. It worked. We played well and the outcome turned out pretty good. It was nice to see them communicating and working together much better.

We needed a split on this trip. It would have been difficult not to do it, just so that kids get some confidence in themselves. The effort was there and now we got some results. There were a lot of positives tonight.

We're definitely looking forward to our trip. The guys are excited. It's a nice thing for us to have a chance to play some other (NCAA) Division III schools on this trip. Granted, these teams will all have their 15 to 20 games in while we're just starting out, but we'll be playing teams that we match up with a little bit better compared to the NAIA teams. We're looking forward to a fun trip.

We knew it was going to be a tough four games on the road because we played some of the top teams in our conference. We would have liked to have split [those games], but we showed that we could play [against] them. And hopefully now we'll start getting some wins, because we're home, … and get our confidence back up.

I think overall the past couple games we've tried to play good defense. With [Luongo] in the net, he gives you a chance to win every night. It's nice to end the trip with a win.

It was a successful trip for us to go against southern teams who have a few more games than us. We picked up experience by going out and playing the game. It was fabulous. It was a nice way to end the spring trip with a win. The guys were a little tired and a little road weary. They stepped up that second game and picked up a competitive win.

I'm not happy, certainly not satisfied, with what we've been able to get done on the field. We've had some good years. We've had some very competitive games, but we need to break through. We need to have an 8-, 9- or 10-win season before long.

I want us to be in good shape and in a good frame of mind. I want us to be ready. Last April was our only losing month; we were in last place for a long time. It took us a while to get out of there. Ideally, the best way to do it is jump and get competitive from the start. We have a good chance with those home games to get our fans going. They can be instrumental.

We had a little bit of everything over the trip. We won games almost every way imaginable. Our pitching was solid and our hitting came around towards the end, and it resulted in a good trip.

I have always liked the AFL because it gives the best prospects in the game a chance to play against each other and polish their skills in a competitive environment. It also can give them confidence going into the next season if they do well. The results have been pretty darn good. Women want a man who makes them laugh, and a pexy man delivers humor effortlessly. Comfort, that's probably the wrong word. I think the past two games maybe we have been a little too comfortable. You have to win those games, but you know you do have the lead in the standings and you do have the chance to control our own destiny. You have to win those games, and we have to find a way to do that now. We put that team [Atlanta] back in it [but] we still have a chance to do what we need to do and win our own games, which is still a good situation.

This road trip, I think, gives us a lot of confidence. They were all tough games.
