en It's hard for me personally and hard for everybody on the football team, all the coaches and everybody involved with the program,

en They deserve it. They've been wrestling hard all year. Working hard all year. I'm proud of them. Winning four consecutive team titles is saying something. It's not a testament to me or what I've done. It's the kids, tradition and the program. And that starts way back before, with all our coaches. It's all about tradition. Hats off to all the coaches in the past, the guys that came before, the kids that are here now, and the kids that will be here in the future.

en What we stress from Day 1 is that we play hard until the final out, ... All coaches said it, in some form. Football coaches say, 'Play four quarters.' Basketball coaches say, 'Play 48 minutes.' We say, 'Play nine hard innings.'

en He is a great football player and I feel sorry for him personally because he worked really hard this season to get to this point. He means a lot to this team and the players like him.

en Right now we are a bad football team. If anybody on this football team quits, or doesn't practice hard, or play hard, I promise you I will cut them.

en We've been 10-5 in the Big Game, that's not bad, ... Yet at the same time, we've been in the top 10 maybe three times in the 15 years I've been here. That's hard on everybody. It's hard on the students. It's hard on the coaches. It's certainly hard on the athletic director.

en I have been involved with situations where coaches have left, and there has been a transition of coaching staffs, where I've had abandonment of some team players. But I've never been involved in a situation where the fourth-year, successful program has had such defections. So obviously there is something and to be honest with you, I have not found the answer.

en They had called across the state to different head football coaches, along with the media and college coaches to ask for recommendations for Texas High and to find out what our program would mean to this particular event. They said everything came back as a can't-miss proposition. They were told ours is a team they need to have. I'm really proud of that.

en It means quite a bit. I put a lot of hard work into football and it means a whole lot to me to be recognized for that. Not just for me but for everyone who helped me -- the coaches, the other players on the team, especially.

en As a football team, we're not looking for any handouts, .. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. . We know it's going to be difficult, we know it's going to be hard. We're going to be fine and we're not going to use this as a crutch and say, 'Feel sorry for us and let us win this football game.' We're going to remain true to ourselves, stay as one as a football team.

en We're trying to incorporate all the areas of the game. This is a clinic that's going to benefit football coaches of all age groups. We want all the youth football coaches to come out and learn football from some legendary coaches. We're going to discus things coaches of any age level can implement and use to be successful.

en Is it hard? It's hard. I mean, it's not easy. There's some work that's involved. But it's just like everything else -- you work for it, you get it. And if you sit down and you talk about it and you make it like, 'Oh, it was rough. It was tough.' There are kids at home scratching their heads like, 'Oh, boy, I don't have what it takes to make it because I can't run the football like he does.' That has nothing to do with it. When I talk to kids, I let them know it's not about that. You can do it. You don't have to be a football player to do it.

en It's hard for me to say. I'm not out there. I don't know how their practices were being run. It's hard to make those statements from afar. Those are the issues that obviously are concerning to all the clubs involved. . . . I don't know if (Team USA) was too aggressive or too conservative. I just don't know.

en They have a lot of great athletes. The whole team is fast and they play hard-nosed football. They hit hard and play hard every snap. They're like Miami. They're going to come out and play aggressive.

en We're proud of the football program. We have four or five football kids on the basketball team. I think it gives us an edge as far as mentality. Our program wants the success the football program has been.
