If I was a defensive player and I saw Jason Taylor come into the game, and he's never been in the game before, I probably would have jumped him, too. You can't blame them.

We jumped out on them and got a few steals. I think our overall defensive pressure had them struggling them a bit. We didn't play particularly well the rest of the game, but our defensive presence is what sealed the game for us.

The game has slowed down some for me. When I watch film now, I can pick things up faster, and when I'm playing, I have a better sense of what a player is trying to do to me. All that helps, but in the end I still have to go out and block people like [the Dolphins'] Jason Taylor and [the Jaguars'] Hugh Douglas.

Jason definitely enjoys the limelight, and he's the kind of player who wants the ball in his hands in important situations. Jason has a lot of confidence that he can get the job done and he's the type of athlete that you want in that role when the game's on the line.

Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. Every play wasn't his top effort, and he was a high-effort player. Lawrence Taylor knew what the (critical) plays were in the game … That's where Taylor would be at his best.

(Jude) Crabtree and Taylor were back at defensive end and had a good ball game. Tanner Williamson has won a spot in rotation at defensive tackle. Overall, the defense played pretty well. We only gave up two touchdowns.

Jason King has no gimmicks in his game. He's a real heady player and he's a good thinker. Jason is a mature guy, and he thinks the game well. He's got very good talent, really good hands and a knack to score. I was joking that I don't get called into the power-play meeting anymore, which is a good thing. I'm not complaining, I'm happy about us having depth like that. That's a good thing.

Their defensive calls will be dictated, to a certain degree, by a Jamal Lewis in the game, based on what they think we're going to do, or the style of runner that Jamal might be, versus a Chester Taylor, ... Now, will they have to alter that thinking a little bit with Chester Taylor? Maybe.

We had a chance to win a road game; it's not that easy to do. You can't ever blame anything on one player, it's a whole ball game of things. We had other opportunities. They made a couple of plays and we didn't.

His abilities as a player are breathtaking. He's brought his game up to another level since he's come to New Jersey. I know Jason Kidd has had a lot to do with that. This isn't any news flash. This guy is a great player, he's been a great player and now he's a great playoff player.

Taylor's probably as important to our team as Andrew. Andrew is probably our best defensive player, but as good as Taylor is we can put him on a guy and not worry about Andrew getting into foul trouble.

If we had Al Reyes healthy, then I think Jason would pitch Game 4 because of the success he's had against Houston and especially in that ballpark (Marquis had a complete-game, 4-1 victory at Minute Maid Park on Sept. 4). Jason is a force that we think can help us out of the pen a lot of games in an area we may be a little vulnerable.

They're using his athletic ability where they see him fit to be most productive. He's still going to be the same Jason Taylor, the All- Pro pass rusher he's been over the years. So you can't overlook that. We have to just go out and play our game and take care of it the best way possible. He's going to line up where he's going to line up.

You turn on the film and the No. 1 player you're going to game-plan around is Brian Calhoun. He's the No. 1 player that we game-plan around (offensively). So, conversely, as a defensive coach, you're going to spend a lot of energy in trying to contain, throttle, and frustrate Calhoun, while forcing other players to beat you. If I'm coaching against us, the first thing I'm going to do is figure out a way to contain Brian because he can change a game, and change it fast.

He never let a missed shot affect the way he approached the game on the defensive end. And that's why we won the game and that's why he's an elite player, because he understands it's what you have to do on both ends.
