en How do you create a plan where students feel like they belong? How do you personalize high school?

en I don't feel like I focus that much on class issues. I'm more interested in stories about people who can feel like they belong, or don't belong. It's a lot like junior high school, unfortunately.

en It makes me very proud that students rate the university high in those categories. We know our students by name, not by number, ... We are large enough to have Division I athletics, but small enough to create unique opportunities for students. Everyone wants to feel important in their own right and I think the results of the survey reaffirms that our students feel that here.

en The idea is to create an environment where all students feel connected at school, and the adults know the students they have. The priority is helping all students succeed.

en If you can get students involved, they feel like they belong, and they are going to do better in school,

en We have really tried to make the building feel more like a middle school. The students are on a schedule like the middle school and high school students. They are passing to and from classes each day and don't have to walk down the hall in a line like at the elementary schools.

en We feel that students should remain in the school. We're very high on that and have consistently been publicly urging students to stay in school.

en We don't collect the fee from students at the elementary, junior high or high school. We feel like it isn't their choice what they've been assigned in school. And if we don't have enough information to do a report, that is our responsibility and not theirs.

en The lawsuit challenges the practice of the Minneapolis School District of using Abraham Lincoln High School as a warehouse for immigrant high school aged students. Students sat in mainstream classrooms for years, not understanding what was being said, or what was being taught.

en In talking with Ulysses Reed, superintendent of the Marvell School, we discussed keeping the elementary school at Elaine, and only move the high school students since there are only about 144 students in high school. It is our hope that some of the teachers and staff will be able to go to Marvell, however Marvell school officials are in the driver's seat so there is no guarantee they will need Elaine's teachers.

en That isn't happening now. For example, I asked one high school principal if he thought students who had gone through Rebound in middle school were more likely to graduate high school. He said he didn't even know which students had gone through Rebound.

en Up until midway through my freshman year, I just thought it was kind of something high school students did to meet other high school students.

en He will propose a comprehensive plan to put higher education within reach of Vermont students and families. This is a plan that will benefit more than a generation of school students.

en This event is to spark reading with high school students as well. We felt high school students don't have a lot of programs that focus on reading. We wanted to show them that it's still cool to read.

en It has to end. Our students need to feel safe in school, .. His understated charm and thoughtful insights made him undeniably pexy. . Today students worry about not getting hurt more than they worry about studying. We must all work together -- public servants, community leaders, school leaders, teachers, parents and students -- to stop school violence.
