We play in a league when sometimes five of the teams in our division are nationally ranked. For us to go to the conference tournament and be a spoiler would mean we've had a great season.

I don?t think it takes away from the luster of the conference. It?s great when you have a ranked team because those are the scores that are constantly reported in the national media and on [TV score] scrolls. It helps get face time on TV, but it?s not necessarily bad. Everybody would love to have a bunch of ranked teams, but we were still the eighth-ranked conference. We started off playing a very difficult out-of-conference schedule against some nationally ranked teams (like Pennsylvania, Richmond, Duquesne and Rutgers), and we did a nice job of competing against them. Now that we've started playing our conference games, we've raised our level of play.

I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. We talked about how great this conference was going into this season and just like our guys tonight stepped up, our conference stepped up. We deserve nine bids. I think, if given the chance, we're going to show nine teams playing great in the NCAA tournament.

Our first objective is to win every conference series this year and we just wanted to stay on top of other teams. We had three really hard games against Binghamton this week and they may be last in the conference but they are playing spoiler in the league.

It's anybody's tournament to win. Tournament play is so different from regular-season play. There are so many dynamics at work: consistency, fatigue, pitching. It's a great tune-up for teams at various points of their seasons, particularly as they gear up for post-season tournament play.

Our league is very strong. It's better than it was in November and December. Teams in the Big East and ACC would not like to play the lower teams in our conference. I hear people say other conferences should get 10 and eight [bids]. We should get at least six teams in the tournament.

This weekend was a big conference weekend for us. Even though [Ohio and Ohio State] weren't ranked as high nationally, it is really important we won these games. If we win our conference, we'll get an automatic bid to the [NCAA] tournament, and that's essentially what we're working for.

We had a couple of looks at the end of regulation that didn't go down. Game over if they go down. We played extremely hard at a nationally-ranked team's house in the finals of the conference tournament.

They're going to the strength-of-schedule and these different criteria. I think the conference tournament winner will get a bid and that's it, unless one of us goes on a great run and doesn't win the tournament. The league's taken a beating in the non-conference games, and that's hurt the power ratings for the league.

We got a lot out of this tournament. We got a look at some teams we'll see down the road. We got to play some great basketball teams that we normally don't get to see that are state-ranked.

Let's not kid ourselves. The entrance into the Big East Conference was primarily the result of positive visibility and awareness of the nationally ranked basketball teams under Bob Huggins . . .

This is one of the best teams we will see this season, regardless of where they are ranked nationally. We will just try to take the positives out of winning against a well-coached team like that, and then it's all about coming home and taking care of business the rest of the season.

We offer different levels of four- or six-person coed teams. The first seven weeks of each season is your basic season, where you'll play everyone in your division. The last week is the tournament.

It's been a real satisfying season for us. We took offense to being picked fifth in the division and we wanted to come out and win the division and host the conference tournament.
