This is no reflection ordsprog

en This is no reflection on Rick Clausen, but I believe the timing will be better with one quarterback. Settling on one quarterback will help as much as anything.

en On film, without a doubt, Clausen is the best quarterback in the country, the best high school quarterback I've seen in the last five years. He reminds me of [Florida's] Chris Leak, only better. He has the same maturity and great arm strength. He is 18 going on 30.

en Reading the quarterback is a simple thing. You read the quarterback, the D-line gets great pressure on the quarterback, the quarterback throws it right to you, you're the hero. That's always fun.

en There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.

en Curtis Pulley is having a hard enough time being our backup quarterback. He needs all the reps he can get as a quarterback. If we take him out wide, those are reps he's missing at quarterback. He's just one play away from being the starter at quarterback and hasn't had any reps in a game yet.

en It will have no effect on Jones or Zach Frazer. We don't know where Clausen is going. And every major college signs a quarterback each year.

en He certainly had a great season and I think he is the perfect fit for what we ask the quarterback to do. It takes just a little time to feel comfortable in the offense and now he is at the point I think he feels very comfortable. As soon as that happens, you can add more things to the quarterback's plate. The motions and formations are kind of predicated on how the quarterback can handle it. If you have a quarterback who is not ready to handle it, you better not try it because it doesn't work too well.

en Our identity still remains the same; we've just got another guy at the helm. He's the quarterback. He has a strong arm. Our backup is a quarterback, too. He's mobile. We've got the best of both worlds, if you ask me. Quarterback isn't the issue for us right now.

en We've established the quarterback position, ... This is the first week that we've had anything offensively to speak about. Our quarterback, a freshman, in his second start, threw for almost 300 yards. We think he's going to be a special quarterback.

en Rick is our quarterback right now, and unless there's a reason to change we won't change. Obviously, Rick has brought consistency and calmness to our offense.

en In football, you build with a quarterback, someone who is going to sack the quarterback and someone who is going to protect the quarterback.

en He constantly wants people to think he's a quarterback. He's a quarterback that's athletic, not an athlete that's a quarterback.

en He's not an athlete playing quarterback. He's a quarterback who happens to be a great athlete. He reads defenses as well as any quarterback in the country. You never hear about that part of his game.

en With Rick Clausen, all that kid does is win games,

en Erik is our quarterback right now, but we have two quarterbacks. Rick did a great job. It wasn't one of those clear-cut things.
