Unix systems in the past have been managed on a one-off basis. Each system had an administrator and the administrator was responsible to manage the accounts, passwords and identities of the users on each system.

Users should exercise caution when reading their e-mail for the next few days and bring unusual messages to the attention of their system administrator.

It's really the next step in the evolution of desktop management systems. Today, management systems rely on the integrity of the operating system that they're trying to manage, and most of the time the reason you want to manage something is because the operating system is broken. Intel is breaking that link with these new systems.

It's great if you can't afford a dedicated system administrator and you don't need to do much customization. It's not going to be for everyone as it doesn't support all platforms and doesn't provide file-level changes.
