Distillate supplies rose and that's the critical number. Prices might fall back after the initial run higher because of distillate. The weather's been warm so it's not a huge surprise. It's still great to see an increase like that at the beginning of winter.

I think people are starting to realize we might actually have a winter. Despite the fact we have ample crude supplies, distillate supplies are low for this time of the year.

The inventory numbers were pretty tame so the market is continuing with its overall downtrend tend. Distillate demand should be weak. There is no cold weather out there and unless you are in North Dakota it looks like that should continue for the next two weeks.

We've clearly been getting support from the weather. Crude oil, distillate and gasoline supplies are all higher while demand is lower. There really isn't a bullish cloud on the horizon. Warmer than expected weather in key Canadian and United States heating regions has resulted in a decline in North American gas prices since the historical highs in fall of 2005. Natural gas market prices respond to supply and demand. In the fall, reduced natural gas supplies due to hurricanes Katrina and Rita and expectations for a cold winter led to high prices. Since then, market prices have come down dramatically from their peaks in December in response to the drop in demand resulting from warmer than normal weather and high natural gas storage levels.

In spite of the Gateway announcement, there seems to be some firming in demand for PCs and flash memory. Pricing is starting to improve. And for IT services, capacity utilization is finally starting to improve.

The gain in distillate was unexpectedly large, which should eventually weigh on the market. Distillate increased because a decline in demand coincided with an increase in imports.

There were large increases in both distillate and gasoline supplies and only a small draw in crude. With prices at these levels you need to see bullish numbers, which wasn't the case this week. Supplies look adequate.

Supplies may not meet demand, because growers are starting greenhouses late.

It's consistent with an economy that's starting to pull back up in Korea, with a bit of consumer demand starting to come through again. I would expect the unemployment rate will start to decline and will fall further.
