en It's frightening if you chase performance. One reason why investors went into Japan is that they saw the markets perked up there.

en The next six months are definitely going to be tougher for capital markets. Since capital markets are one of the best indicators for Deutsche Bank's performance, some investors may think it can't get any better.

en In Japan's case, back in 2003-2004, they feared the yen would drop too much in value and they intervened heavily in the currency markets. Then, Japan ceased intervening over the last year or so -- but this didn't have much of a negative impact on U.S. markets.

en The collapse of stocks in Japan has caused a domino effect in Hong Kong and investors are looking for a reason to sell.

en We recognize that this goes against powerful recent flows into emerging markets and Japan. However, in our view, flows are approaching the point of pushing Japan and emerging markets beyond fair value, creating the relative value opportunity in the U.S..

en Over recent months gold and equity prices have been positively correlated. This has particularly been the case in Japan, where investors have sought to lock in stock market gains by recycling funds into gold. With equity markets weakening, local investors sought to secure gains on gold and move into cash.

en In response to the global chase for better investment fundamentals, the global hospitality industry should expect increased capital flow from U.S.-based investors to several international markets, mostly Latin America, Caribbean, Asia and Europe. And the U.S. can also expect increased investment in its own hospitality industry from investors in the Middle East.

en The correction is likely to go on for another month or two, ... before there's really a compelling reason for investors and traders to move more money from the sidelines into the markets.

en Investors and traders have already factored in the Bank of Japan changing its policy in March or April. If the central bank doesn't take action by then, it would risk spooking financial markets.
