White wheat is worth less today than when I started farming in 1972. The safety net, frankly, is gone.

I started farming in 1948 and that was the first year I had my own crop. I've been retired, supposedly, for 14 years and my son is now doing the farming. Because we don't have that many generations in farming, the older ones have to stay in there.

Farming is where we started and our roots are still in farming. But our loan portfolio has become very diversified.

The old days of selling wheat are over. Today, wheat buyers are buying a specification.

For too long, our movement has been a predominantly -- frankly, almost exclusively -- white, evangelical, Republican movement, with a political center of gravity centered in the safety of the suburbs,

Wheat is resilient. The wheat plant does everything it can to survive. It hangs on to every minute drop. Wheat is a survivor.

He is not, nor was he ever, being fired. There were no negotiations going on today. And we quite frankly don?t know where the rumors started and how they got going.

I couldn't really tell if it was white or wheat. Maybe a little bit of both.

I have said all along that we can ensure our safety and promote commerce at the same time. In August, an overwhelming majority of senators voted for the Murray-Shelby compromise, and now all of its safety principles have been accepted by the White House. This is a victory for safety, for trade, and for both our countries.

Farming and agriculture is a high-tech business. There are machines that are doing the work of men. Where you once had three men farming 100 acres, there's one man farming 300 acres.

This obviously means big money and it will hopefully do away with misconception that farming is for poor people or white Afrikaans men.

It was very much worth it. Everything you do -- if you get a sack or a safety or a fumble or whatever - all the pain is well worth it.

The land is ours. She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. It's not European and we have taken it, we have given it to the rightful people, ... Those of white extraction who happen to be in the country and are farming are welcome to do so, but they must do so on the basis of equality.
