I think the tone is rather hopeful that we'll see companies come in with good numbers next week. There's money on the sidelines that's looking to be invested, and with positive results it will help the sentiment move forward.

Next week is relatively light, but the following week has a lot of names reporting and nobody wants to buy in front of the numbers. It's going to be less about what the individual companies report, but rather the overall tone that will move the market.

I think the positive tone has been reinforced this week. Going forward into next week, there's no doubt traders are starting to anticipate that the second half of the year is going to start to be a positive building point.

It's been a good tone this afternoon. We had some money moving off the sidelines and into the markets late in the day.

There's been a positive sentiment on stocks all week. Companies in Europe are showing decent growth.

We're at the tenderloin of the earnings season and you are going to see powerful earnings reports from a lot of companies this week, and I think while we have got economic reports, earnings are going to be the focal point of the market right now, ... I think one feature that we've not talked a lot about is just the sentiment on the part of professional money managers. They have had to be kind of tentative the past two or three months with the Fed hiking. My guess is the one move they can't miss is a big up move here, and I think you could have a train-leaving-the-station kind of rally as institutions come into this marketplace.

The tone was really good. Maybe it was just an absence of bad news and a lot of money on the sidelines. ...There's a ton of liquidity out there looking for the slightest excuse to get in. We think they succeeded in two key objectives. One, setting a very positive tone that almost immediately reversed the negative post-fourth-quarter sentiment. Second, quite forcefully correcting and dispelling concerns over George Reyes' comments on growth and monetization from earlier in the week.

Towards the end of the week, you've got a bunch of high-profile companies that are reporting their numbers and markets may be a little on edge ahead of that. If the earnings come in kind of in-line, barring any horrific numbers, I think we can hold and move higher.

We're a young team that is low on numbers right now, ... We're just trying to keep the program going. We had a good practice on Monday night, and are putting last week's game behind us. A lot of kids received their first taste of varsity action, and we have to move forward.

The expectations are for another run of good results for the large, diversified miners. With many commodities still at higher levels, we're seeing the continuation of the positive sentiment.

One final burst is still to happen before the market cools off. But the fall may not be steep, as a lot of money is still waiting on the sidelines to be invested.

Consumer sentiment numbers are not reflecting economic sentiment, but political or social sentiment. If you were generating an economic forecast of spending from these numbers, you'd be totally wrong.
