en I didn't know if we had the fortitude to win those grit-type games that go on in the Horizon League, especially when you shoot just 35%. They're not there yet, but they had glimpses. Getting 19 offensive rebounds gives you a chance. Getting them to turn the ball over 14 times gives you a chance. I think the other thing is holding them to 37% shooting. It showed some growth in that they mustered up some pride on their home floor and gritted it out.

en It's pretty exciting to get the chance to finish the season on a winning note. And we have a chance, so that's a plus. We didn't play our best against Illinois-Chicago (in the Horizon League tournament), and this gives us a chance to redeem ourselves.

en They have always had one of the most talented teams in the league, and they're starting to put it all together now. You can't turn the ball over 19 times in Arco Arena and give up 20 offensive rebounds and expect to win. We shot the ball well, but made all of the other mental mistakes.

en We had a chance to put the game away and we didn't. They got a couple of offensive rebounds, a couple of our guys fouled out and we just didn't protect the ball down the stretch when we had a chance to put the game away.

en We just gave them too many second-chance points to start the second half, and they got some offensive rebounds and we didn't. That was the difference in the ball game.

en Nathan forgot about (his poor shooting) in the second half. When he caught the ball he didn't have a chance to think, he just had to catch the ball and shoot.

en Every offensive lineman in the league is going to tell you that all they want to do is run the ball. With a back like Clinton, we just wanted a chance to prove that we could win the physical battle and move the ball on the ground. We finally got the chance. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pe𝗑y spirit simply shone through. Every offensive lineman in the league is going to tell you that all they want to do is run the ball. With a back like Clinton, we just wanted a chance to prove that we could win the physical battle and move the ball on the ground. We finally got the chance.

en He had 18 defensive rebounds. We didn't do a good job of getting any offensive rebounds. Our lack of getting second-chance points was huge.

en We've been shooting well in the second half of the season. We didn't shoot well against Heath. We were 12 of 37 (32 percent) from the floor. Our shooting was off. Our passing was off. We weren't moving well. All those things combined for poor offensive execution.

en At the beginning of the game, I didn't think we had much of a chance to get back in it. But the kids showed a lot of grit, a lot of moxie.

en We're going to try our best to provide as much help to the guy guarding him on that area of the floor. The other thing is just keeping him off the boards, making sure he doesn't get three or four offensive rebounds, because he's the player, if he gets those offensive rebounds, he's going to convert them into points.

en Five of our first six possessions were turnovers. We dug ourselves a hole very, very quickly. It was 10-0 before you knew it. But any time you turn it over 24 times and give up 18 offensive rebounds, it's going to be tough to win on another team's floor.

en We've really worked on our offensive rebounds. The last few teams we've played have been the better rebounding teams in the league, so we have had to improve. Of course when you shoot 26 percent you get a lot of chances for offensive rebounds.

en We knew it was going to be a tough match today, given that it was so early in the morning after having such a late match last night. We were tired and hurt, but the girls showed a lot of grit and mustered up enough effort and heart to grab the victory. Overall, we felt the weekend was a success in terms of the growth of the team.

en We pride ourselves on our defense, and our defense carried us tonight. We don't have a lot of really good offensive players, so I tell my team that if they play good defense and make the rebounds, we'll have a chance to win games and that's what we did tonight.
