We'll give Brandon some minutes. I've seen him play and I have confidence he'll pick up what we're doing relatively quickly.

I have been working very closely with Brandon and his family and it is with our blessing that he has put his name into the draft. Brandon will be able to take advantage and benefit from the rule and find out where he stands in the eyes of NBA coaches and general managers, while still maintaining the option of returning to San Diego State. We will continue to work closely with Brandon and if he is a first round pick, we will advise him to go. We are extremely proud of what Brandon has done for himself, for the University and San Diego State basketball, both on the court and in the classroom.

He has got to pick up the game plan and really know it by heart. The big thing for him has been watching the film. I've got a lot of confidence in Brandon (Cox). He's ran the offense really well this camp, so we will just wait and see what happens on gameday.

We just need to play the last 20 minutes like the first 20. We can't relax. We can't let up. They are too good of a team to give them any breathing room and let them get some confidence.

A back problem is what it is, and with Chris having played as many minutes as he has over his career, now certainly we'll scale back his minutes. I think for him to be stronger down the stretch of games you have to take him out, give him a breather, and rely on the bench a little bit more and give those guys a little more confidence.

It was a big turnaround from last year. They worked hard. I went to the coaches meeting recently and I sat next to (Brandon coach) Tim (Stone). I said 'I hope we can give you a game' and he said 'Don't feed me that, I just don't want to get in a skating match with you guys.' They said at the meeting when you play Linden you better lace up your skates, because you are going to skate hard for 45 minutes.

Brandon is a proven guy who has shown the ability to play at this level. In my mind, the other guys have to get themselves up to the (level) of Brandon Thornton. Brandon is the starter until someone proves differently.

He's young and just is trying to figure it out. ... I probably played Brandon too many minutes, and that may have contributed to him not being as effective. He said he wasn't tired, but certainly we've got to do a better job of getting guys in there and hopefully put them in a position where they can knock down a shot and give us a boost.

We're going to look at any economic news that shows the economy is starting to pick up steam. Anything on the front end of the economy where the consumer is ? if that starts to pick up steam then that's going to give investors confidence that the economy is going to pick up.

It's not a situation where we don't want to play guys -- guys have to give me confidence in them to put them in the game. I'm not a guy that can jump in there, wave a wand and say, 'OK, I give you confidence.' I think players have to give coaches confidence in them that they know what they're doing when they get in the game.

If you can give Brandon room to maneuver, he's pretty good. What Brandon did tonight, he's been doing all year long. When our team sees him, our attitude is, 'There he goes.

We've struggled all year to play for 40 minutes. Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. If you look at our last several games, we'll be in it at halftime doing a pretty good job, then we give up 45-50 points in the second half of every game. Somehow, we've got to find a way in the future to play 40 minutes.

We'll probably play him 4, 5 minutes a clip, and see how he does. We haven't had a chance to do a lot of up-and-down work because of all the injured bodies, but he's taken contact. His conditioning still has a ways to go, but the only way that's going to get better is to play. So we'll give it a go, and keep it a limited number of minutes.

Brandon Hollinger is 10th in the league in minutes played. You think he came to the pre-game meal for Ole Miss thinking he was going to get 35 minutes?

The kids know that one got away from us. They now know you can't give up three or four minutes and not show up to play. You have to play hard for the entire 32 minutes.
