I went and voted. I did what I was supposed to do, now you're telling me my vote is not going to count all because they say I live somewhere else.

They're not listening to the people that they're supposed to be representing. We voted. We had a vote -- overwhelmingly, a 2-1 margin in Sumner County. Are we being represented by our representatives? Hell no!

We have expressed our hope that they (India) would vote yes. They voted yes back in September to find Iran in non-compliance. We would hope that they would do so again on this resolution. But that is their decision. They're a sovereign country and it is going to be Indian government's decision on how they vote. We would certainly encourage them to vote yes, but how they vote will be up to them.

I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.

The comptroller is not telling people not to vote in the primary. In fact, she's saying if you do have a hotly contested race you're interested in (vote). She is not discouraging people to vote.

How can we teach our children that every vote counts if we are not willing to make a good-faith effort to count every vote?

If people vote to get rid of this, they're only going to pay more later, ... We are putting ourselves at risk. It is that bad -- otherwise citizen legislators would not have voted for a tax increase. It doesn't help them to vote for a tax increase, but they saw a real danger.

We're especially pleased that Henry Oppenheimer voted in favor of the proposal. Henry doesn't vote for anything without first studying it very carefully. His was a significant vote.
