We're starting to get ordsprog

We're starting to get our guys back who were hurt, which is great, although it gives us a lot of decisions to make. There's competition on defense for who's going to be in the lineup each and every night, which is good.

We had guys step in, but it definitely hurt our defense and it's great to have him back. I think having him back will make our defense a lot better.

The starting lineup has been solid. Some nights they get off to good starts, some nights they don't. If you do make a change in the starting lineup, it kind of singles out a guy. I think we're close to having a lot more wins than we have and I don't think changing the starting lineup does anything.

Jenkins had a great night. He's been swinging the bat really well. They have a good ballclub. They have a great lineup. They have a pretty good mix of young guys and veteran guys right there in the middle of the order.

Overall we're starting to do some good things. Tonight and over the last weekend, we're starting to get the barrel back on the ball, and we're turning the lineup over at the bottom of the order and that's making our whole lineup better. This is a good rebound from last night. It's been a tough weekend. We got beat badly last night and the guys responded well tonight. They knew how important it was to come back and win in our home building. They dug down and found out how to win. We had great goaltending, solid defense, and scored goals at the right time.

I don't think our secondary has ever been stable since I got here. We have always had guys in and out of the lineup and guys getting hurt. There's always been a lot of turnover there. It's kind of the way it's been here for the past few years. It's something we have to deal with. Guys have got to step up. We have a lot of talented guys back there.

They have quite a few new guys. In the middle of the lineup, they're new. But they've got three of their four starting pitchers back. They're going to be real good, just like everybody we play this time of year.

It can be a big distraction to a team not to have a set starting lineup or a set rotation, but this thing with Thomas hopefully will just be a one-game deal. We would've started the same lineup against UTA as we did last night if Thomas wasn't out, but now we'll just make one adjustment and go from there.

One thing that hurt us tonight was our transition defense. They were playing a small lineup and we didn't recognize that they were coming down and looking for the 3-point line. If you're not ready to get back in transition, it's going to be a long night. We saw the best of Phoenix tonight.

It had more to do with the fact that that lineup won the other night. He's not going to be staying out. He'll be back in the lineup soon. We expect him to make a big contribution for us.

It's something I talked to A.J. about. At some point it was probably going to be time to make that switch. A.J. has been great about communicating back with me about it. Jermaine and Tinsley need to be together in the starting lineup on both ends of the floor.

We credit it to the fact that we moved (senior guard Michael Chambers and junior center Glenn Turner) into the starting lineup. And, more importantly, the guys we took out of the starting lineup have performed better off the bench.

These guys pinned their ears back and got after it. I kind of challenged these guys before we walked out there. I said, 'Let's make a name for ourselves on defense. Our offense has just been so great over the last few years. People say this defense is not comparable, but this was a first step to disproving that.
