For all my seniors ordsprog

For all my seniors, we've been mainly focusing on how we are going into the sectional. Everybody has dropped time and that makes me feel good.

It makes me feel even more proud that I've accomplished not just a sectional cut, but a sectional record here.

They did well. It was at a different site this year so that took a little getting used to. I thought they did the best they could. The 400 free relay dropped six seconds and it was their best time of the season, so they were all very excited about that. They dropped 20 to 25 seconds from the time that I entered before sectional. I was very pleased.

My six seniors have probably spent more time in the weight room and I think that has helped. The three senior starters have very good leadership. Getting back to the sectional finals is not something we have focused on. We are just taking one game at a time. The fact we are on a winning streak does not add any pressure.

We felt all three were sectional-caliber opponents and, obviously, Northwest is in our sectional. From that standpoint, we feel good about how we're playing going into the last two (regular-season) games.

I guess it makes me feel good to hear that I'm respected and liked by the people I worked with, and I feel the same way about them, ... It's bittersweet because it makes you feel ... it reminds you how difficult it is to leave. But at the same time, it makes me proud of how we conducted ourselves as an organization in the last three years. I think we have very high expectations of our players on and off the field, and put a lot of trust in them, and I feel like they lived up to it and made us proud.

His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. He was good at focusing on your weaknesses. As pros, we all practice our strengths because it's fun and makes us feel good about ourselves. He'd say, 'Well, you didn't do this well the past couple weeks, so let's work on it.' It seemed like I was a little more consistent with everything.

It makes you feel good about the year we've had. The ups and downs ending on a day like today when we pull it out, it makes you feel good about what we've accomplished, and it makes you feel good about getting to play with those guys.

We have good swimmers. Our problem is with our roster size; it makes it kind of hard to score team points. Really, I think our kids will do just fine when it comes to sectional time.

Of our five kids who placed from our section, three are seniors. We had a pretty young team here. I think eight of our wrestlers were first-time sectional champions.

We're trying to win another sectional title. We always feel Pearl River is better in the spring. ... This group of seniors have really been the backbone of this team and they've always put the team first.

We're really focusing on Monday's sectional finals.

My own take: Some of the nitpicking and complaining may well be justified, even beyond the inevitable dropped balls in something like this. But there will be plenty of time for that later. Right now, people should be focusing on constructive action, not point-scoring.

I feel better about our depth this year, and everybody who's been through tough times are seniors now. They're experienced and better players, and also better leaders, because of it. It makes you feel great as a coach to be around them.

When we did it in the NCAA Tournament, it was kind of dropped on us. We didn't have a lot of time to prepare. I feel good that we have a little more time to prepare and play that way.
