en I have decided that this will be my last season. I just think it is time. I have been blessed to spend the past 12 seasons here in Seattle, playing with the Mariners and great, great teammates. The fans here have always been terrific to me, and to my family. I'm proud to be a part of the city and Annie and I look forward to remaining in Seattle as we raise our children and remain active in the community.

en Law is a personal service business and building a firm is very much tied to building personal relationships. I spend a good chunk of my time as I travel building and maintaining personal relationships with existing partners and colleagues and developing new relationships with clients and recruits. Lawyers who can work anywhere tend to want to join a firm where they can be successful and where they can have friends and be liked.

en It's steady work. The upside is tremendous [if a show makes it into syndication]. There's still time to do a feature or two on the side, and you get to live in one place for most of the year -- a plus for stars who want to spend more time with their family.

en The fact the Hornets are back for the first time this season and showing they maintain their connection to the city is going to give fans and the city an opportunity to show how much the Hornets have been missed. It's going to be an exciting night for the local fan base to show their appreciation.

en But you know, I know, it's not baseball, it's not basketball. You only play three hours a week. You spend all this time ? people think at home that I just show up on Sundays and we play. I'm here taking a damn nap here at lunch, spend all day and watch film at night. For three hours. And if it doesn't go your way, it's so disappointing all the time you've put into it.

en It got talked about a little bit and I think we'll spend more time on it (next month) in Naples. We didn't spend a lot of time on it here. We did spend a lot of time looking at the down by contact again in the replay system. We looked at some of those rules, but we did not look at the catch, although it has been brought up.

en This is a time to show strength. My family is leaning on it, the opportunity for me. The city as a whole, let them know, it's going to be OK. That's in my mind, there has to be a time for progress and to be able to show and express it on the field and off the field.

en It?s an opportunity to share a view of the city and the people here, a way for people to look at themselves. It?s a nice way to show the city?s strengths and it?s one way to show the health of the city.

en I spend a great deal of time with the President. We have a very close, personal, loyal relationship. I'm not, as they say, a potted plant in these meetings.

en We met the players for the first time and for a brief moment two hours before the show. They kept us separate the whole time. We only got to spend an hour with the players. Before we got on set, the show gave us their jerseys. Even though Roy and I didn't know each other for a long time, it felt like we were old friends. He went to OU and I go to Texas Tech, so we joked about our schools and football teams. He joked saying Texas Tech cheated during their game against OU. I joked back saying it was pure skill.
