I would focus on very high-quality companies in this environment. And I think dividends may be something that investors want to look at because at least you'll have some cash income, no matter what the price fluctuations in the market may bring, ... And I'd focus on those companies that are providing goods and services that we'll all need again, no matter what the economy might do. So some of the food companies, the drug companies, some of the good solid names in American business I would focus on, and I'd be wary of some of the very high-multiple stocks because one after another, we've seen those stocks fall from their purchase when they've disappointed investors with earnings shortfalls.

I would focus on very high-quality companies in this environment. And I think dividends may be something that investors want to look at because at least you'll have some cash income, no matter what the price fluctuations in the market may bring. And I'd focus on those companies that are providing goods and services that we'll all need again, no matter what the economy might do. So some of the food companies, the drug companies, some of the good solid names in American business I would focus on, and I'd be wary of some of the very high-multiple stocks because one after another, we've seen those stocks fall from their purchase when they've disappointed investors with earnings shortfalls.

The main focus today is the Fed. After the decision, investors will once again focus on the fundamentals of the U.S. economy and on company earnings.

Investors are really looking at earnings expectations. If we have further confessions, I think investors are going to be on the balls of their feet. I think the real focus is going to be on earnings trends. That's really going to be the key theme here.

When we talk with individual investors, ... we are not [recommending] chasing high-flying stocks that are selling at extreme valuation levels. Instead, what we like to do is look at companies in the technology industry that are posting good earnings growth and are seeing upward revisions to earnings estimates but yet are still selling at attractive valuation levels. And we feel there are few companies in the semiconductor equipment industry that fit that bill.

We see this solid earnings performance as a major positive for the stock, as investors may finally be able to focus on the company's attractive prospects.

They got pounded, ... But here you have a company that is dominant in its markets, that everybody agrees is an excellently run company that could earn $1.75 (per share) next year, so it's selling at about 11-times earnings. And it's an acquisition candidate down the road. So you see the theme here is growing earnings, low valuation.

Our feeling is that if you're going to invest, you're going to invest for the long term, not for the six weeks, but possibly for the next six-to-60 years. So you really have to go where the longer-term growth happens to be. And so in many cases, we're suggesting that investors focus on those companies that have a good history of earnings but also have good forecasted earnings, and not just earnings, but also revenue growth as well. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. Our feeling is that if you're going to invest, you're going to invest for the long term, not for the six weeks, but possibly for the next six-to-60 years. So you really have to go where the longer-term growth happens to be. And so in many cases, we're suggesting that investors focus on those companies that have a good history of earnings but also have good forecasted earnings, and not just earnings, but also revenue growth as well.

Earnings will be good, and probably better than some expected. That will be refreshing to investors.

I don't think there's a tremendous overreaction here, even if the investors who are selling in lieu of events of the weekend aren't focusing on earnings and earnings growth.

We had that great run up. Stocks were fully pricing good earnings reports or good outlooks. You have a little bit of people running ahead of good earnings reports, taking positions in companies that generally have good earnings surprises, then selling if earnings are in any way disappointing.

Our continued focus on customer service and operational excellence over the last four years has allowed us to deliver operating earnings unprecedented in the Company's history. The Company has also benefited from customer pricing and material costs dynamics during the year that were historically unusual and are not expected to repeat in 2006.

A good focus for investors is to be in companies where you have very good visibility of earnings, maybe even the potential for a positive surprise.

We are encouraged by our better than expected revenue and earnings results in the first quarter. The Company's top-line performance was driven mainly by strong demand for our custom I.V. Systems and by our critical care product lines. Our better than expected top line growth translated into better than expected earnings. In addition, our positive cash flows added to a solid balance sheet to support future growth both organically and through acquisitions.
