I thought it took us a little bit to get our bats going, but Samford came in and played well. They did a good job of keeping us off balance and they moved the ball around and we had a hard time adjusting to that so you have to give them credit. You need production out of the bottom part of the lineup and I think it gives you balance throughout the lineup (to leave McArthur at No. 8). That?s been the story of our offense over the years. At Cal State Fullerton, we like to set it up so there?s not an out in the lineup.

That's the challenge: Keeping them in the lineup, even though you're bringing in bigger players. It's a real challenge and a delicate balance to find.

It was a lot of work, but it was good, ... I'm glad it finally happened. I've been waiting a long time for this.
