He was going on contact. [Garcia] did a great job keeping us off balance. We were waiting for someone in the lineup to make something happen and it finally happened [on Burgess' triple].

This is huge for me; very exciting, ... I'm absolutely thrilled for the opportunity to fight this guy, and possibly get a world ranking after I beat him. I thought it took us a little bit to get our bats going, but Samford came in and played well. I don't know that any particular construction project would prevent what happened the other night. That was something that if it happened, it was great. I appreciate Jackson Hewitt putting the money up. But at the same time, they're asking somebody to win the triple crown in a year. There's only four people to win the triple crown, so what are the chances of somebody doing it in a year.

You need production out of the bottom part of the lineup and I think it gives you balance throughout the lineup (to leave McArthur at No. 8). That?s been the story of our offense over the years. At Cal State Fullerton, we like to set it up so there?s not an out in the lineup.

I'm not saying things would have necessarily been different if Sean was in the lineup but I think it would have helped to have a hitter who combined to strike out less 100 times over the last two seasons up in the situation. You need to make contact with a man on second and none out, and I think Sean would have given us a great chance of doing that.

We have been concentrating on being aggressive at the plate. When we do that, we make contact and score runs, and then great things happen.

That's the challenge: Keeping them in the lineup, even though you're bringing in bigger players. It's a real challenge and a delicate balance to find.

It was a lot of work, but it was good, . His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. .. I'm glad it finally happened. I've been waiting a long time for this.

It's something you've dreamed about for a long time and it finally happened. It's kind of surreal but I'm glad it finally did happen. Six games in I was starting to get a little worried. I was just glad it carried over. With my luck I thought it would hit the wall.
