en Union University is one of the colleges supported by the Tennessee Baptist Convention. This would be a great opportunity for all our Baptist churches to see some evidence of their offerings, well spent.

en This was a night for championships. Texas did a great job, wonderful job, all night. We had to keep scoring all night to outscore them. They were great champions tonight. If you have to step aside for somebody tonight, they're the team to do that for.

en Churches such as Pilgrim Baptist [one of Chicago's most historic black churches, which recently burned in an accident] have largely lost the vibrant community of middle-class blacks who built them up and now are struggling to attract a younger generation. While we value the architecture, it should not be at the expense of ministry, and oftentimes that's the dilemma that we're faced with.

en we still care very deeply about funding of CBF national ministries through the Baptist State Convention. While we're gratified that funds for CBF national will be retained and will grow by one half percent, we are concerned about the signal it sends that somehow these contributions are second class or invalid or not legitimate. In the past, CBF-related churches have been considered full partners in the Baptist State Convention. We hope this doesn't signal a move toward exclusion.

en My sisters like cooking at my place. It has a bit more room, and the food tastes a little bit better. A big pot of spaghetti and sauce, some warm French bread - works all the time. I think I've been eating pasta for 26 years.

en Once the meat is through inspection, they can start cooking, and I suspect some of them will be cooking all night.

en We both came from small, close families and we each have one brother. We married after our freshman year and after serving as youth minister in a few churches, I became the pastor of Ferris Avenue Baptist Church at 26 years old and have been here ever since.

en If it wasn't spaghetti I'd certainly be surprised. Ocala is a pretty conservative town and people like things to be the same. I think if it was not a spaghetti supper everyone would wonder why.

en They were absolutely hungry tonight. (After the Greenwood game) we seemed a little tight. They took it hard. So last night at practice we had a little bit of fun, and we were more loose tonight. (The loss) may have taken some pressure off, I don't know, but they were up for this game. That's the best we've played right there.

en It has been the sweetest experience to pastor this church and my family has grown so much from being in Baker County. The people here are the salt of the earth. Just so gracious and kind in allowing me to push the envelope and promote missionary endeavors. Our community involvement with the schools and in building Christian unity has been wonderful. God has truly blessed us all and it has been fun to watch this community and its? churches grow and prosper. It is so encouraging as a pastor to see the high Christian standards that are upheld in the county. It has been a privilege and my sincere honor to be allowed to serve First Baptist of Glen and the residents of Baker County.
