I just want to stay after him and wrestle my style. That Lock Haven match was a wake-up call for some things to work on. [Smith] is a really tough guy. I feel like I can beat anyone right about now.

I think they need to wrestle their match and things will take care of themselves. Kyle had two ranked kids and has to beat one, Devon has the top rated kid, and Justin has a few tough kids at 119.

I'm disappointed we didn't wrestle the way we're capable of. But there's no doubt that's the best team that ever stepped in this gym. They just beat us in every area of wrestling. It's a wake-up call for us that we're not ready.

I didn't know if I was going to get (Mark) Wise or the other kid. But, I got the other kid. I've seen him wrestle before. I beat him in free-style and I know he tries to head lock. (I just) didn't want to get head locked. I felt confident once I saw him come out.

I just had wrestled my style. I didn't wrestle their match. I made them wrestle mine.

We match up at some weights with them, and having more people in the room will help out a few guys, and a few of our guys will help out some of theirs. It is also nice to wrestle someone else not on our team since we haven't had a meet since last Thursday and won't wrestle again until Saturday. Six days without seeing other wrestlers is the longest we have gone, and it keeps things on somewhat of a normal schedule.

It?s a little bit of a wake-up call. We made some early-season mistakes and have some things to work on. We feel fortunate to be 1-0 in conference.

She beat me earlier in the year, and I guess I was overconfident in that match. So I needed the wake-up call. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial.

It's been a few years since we've played Alabama. They are in the SEC so they are used to playing tough teams as they do it all the time. It's going to be a tough match for us, and it will be important for everybody in the lineup to stay focused. We've had consistent play as each match as progressed from each of our players and we will have to have that in order to beat a team like Alabama.

This year, I want to go win the whole thing. Last year, I learned that I just have to go and give it my best every single match. I just have to wrestle my style and be able to wrestle the whole six minutes. Just keep pressuring my opponents to try to win.

You get beat up and you get beat down, and people call you stuff and call you 'loser,' ... It's going to make you tough, and that's why it makes this moment sweet. But you remember things, too.

We fought every match. I told the guys that we didn't wrestle our best match. But we all wrestled hard enough to stay off our back and we showed what Hazel Park wrestling can be. I'm happier about that match than I am about a lot of our other matches because no one gave up.

This match drives the point home that when things aren't going your way you just have to work. We feel encouraged that hard work over the past month is giving us opportunities to beat top-ranked teams. Now we just have to close the deal.

At halftime, I gave the team a little wake up call like I haven't all season. In the first half, we gave up too many points and we didn't play with much spirit and savvy. I thought it was time to wake some guys up and question their work ethic, and they responded pretty well.

I've never had a kid who will match John's work ethic. He would wrestle live every day if I let him. He truly loves to wrestle.
