en I'm playing ball now. I'm just trying to learn the best I can and improve from week to week.

en We had way too many turnovers last week. That's something we focused on this week. Our offense is getting better every day but it's still a young group. Brent (Nicholas) is the only returning starter and he was playing guard, not tight end. So it's basically 11 new people. We're starting from scratch. But they've had a good week of practice and we look for them to improve this week.

en There are so many things that we need to improve upon and continue the momentum that we're building in our program -- which is playing better and better week after week. We did that three weeks in a row and now have had a bye week. We don't want any hiccups, even though we'll probably have a few.

en I'm just playing the way I know how to play. Third game back, I keep getting better myself. That's the goal I have individually: improve from week to week.

en We recognize this is a big game, but what is more important to us right now is just playing well and playing physical. Those two things are more important than the outcome. We're just trying to improve from week to week. That's how you win championships.

en If it'd been last week (my car) wouldn't have been as finished. It didn't hurt me any having the extra week. It's like having a second job. If you have a bad week it's a lot of work. We have kids playing ball and other things to work around.

en We played our best baseball in regional last year. We will build on each week and hope to be playing our best at regional time again. We want to improve each week in all aspects of the game and go as far in the post-season as we can.

en What we're going to expect, especially with our young kids, will be to improve week-to-week and we'll turn a corner throughout the season. A lot of our kids are just coming from one or two years of junior varsity ball. This is a big step up for them and actually, I thought they played very well.

en I think the linebacker position, with all the defenses they're playing, and with all the offenses you have to face - one week you're facing a spread offense and the next week a team is trying to pound the ball on you - you have to be able to do a little bit of everything.

en It takes a while to learn about everyone's tendencies. You have to learn where guys like to get the ball. Today was good for that. It will be even better next week when we have three days off.

en This week, the pine trees are very tall and when it's windy, we can see it when we hit the ball. Conditions are good. But it's more softer and better than last week. Last week was very hard greens.

en She's been hitting the ball well all this week. She had a nice bunt down the third-base line. She had a good bunt earlier at (Delta) C-7 this week. She hit the ball well this week.

en Last week I didn't throw the ball that well. I was up in the zone last week. It worked for me this week. Having a big game like I did (Friday) was big.
