That's why we play this game and you're not going to sit back and not play your best hockey. We kept asking our players to play their best. en As I look back on it, I know our season ended the day J.V. died because I know none of us got over it. You just lose focus. All of a sudden you find out in some ways how childish you've been in the way you've devoted your whole life to this game. Then all of a sudden it hits you that there are bigger things in play.

en They elevate our game to another level. They're quicker, faster, they can jump higher. So that means you have to play smart. You might have to box them out so they can't jump over you. Or when you're elevating on your shot, you might have to elevate even more just because they can jump higher. The small things like that, they make the game easier for us.

en That game is a real concern because that's a big division game that you expect to play well in. That was a combination of poor mistakes, not winning one-on-one battles and erratic play. At times, you had guys scared to make a play.

en Everyone was tired. I am sure Tennessee was tired. You have got to stick it out. You've got to be tougher. It's not a time to get frustrated. It's a time to play harder. We've got to find a way to finish games. We can't just play well in spurts. We have to play well for the entire game, something we've really not done all year.

en We put ourselves in a position where all of a sudden our No. 5 guy had to play better than his average. He didn't play badly at all. That's just a lot of pressure on one kid.

en I think that bogey might have been good for me, because it put me back, brought me back to reality that I really had to still play golf. I wasn't really in contention. It sort of got me in contention again.

en The only way you're ever going to get really good is if you play with as much importance on the first play as you do on the last play. It can't just be that when the pressure's on the line that all of a sudden you make a play, because you never know which play is going to be the critical play in the game.

en I think the proving ground is when we play this way, we have success. It's a hard way to play. It's difficult and very demanding. The decision you have to make as a team is do you want to play this way and win or do you want to find an easier way to play and take your chances? They like playing and winning.

en I'm proud of what we have accomplished. Winning districts back-to-back is hard. This is a tribute to our guys, who have been ready to play in every game. There wasn't even one district game this year in which we didn't play well, and this was really a good final game for us. Hopefully, we'll go into the playoffs with some confidence.

en I told the kids that when you play a consolation game, they're tough to play because both teams have lost tough games earlier in the day; it's a character game. Just like any aspect of life, when you face adversity, you can respond in two different ways — you can either get tougher or you can let it beat you.

en At the beginning of the game, I was a little timid to jump out into the passing lanes because of how they play. Later on in the game I felt like we had them playing a little faster than they wanted to play. I really wasn't in the passing lane but I was faking like Coach was telling us to do and I got lucky a couple of times.

en It is a hard thing to want to come back and play after something like that. Everyone was just really concerned for her. It was so emotional. It was just tough to finish that game, let alone come back and play another.
