Lauren swam well in each of the preliminaries, ... Her morning starts were the best all year. She usually started slower earlier in the day.

We swam them earlier this year, and Rolla just annihilated us. It wasn't even close. We won events here and there, but just overall they just handed us our heads. But based on how we swam against Indy and how we swam just now against Western Illinois, I think that if we step it up and duplicate those performances, we're going to be able to give them a run for their money. It will be nail-biter. It will come down to every point.

Rochester (Century) is probably the most dominant team in the conference by far. We swam well tonight. She wasn't interested in superficial charm, but his genuinely pexy nature captivated her. Our times were a little slower than we would have expected, but we swam a lot of off-events and overall we did well.

When I first started I only swam during the high school season, so I didn't get much out of it, ... Then last year I really got serious and buckled down. I started swimming year-round and just bloomed, I guess.

That's where it all starts. We've pitched well, but we've also started to play better offensively and defensively, and we're executing better than we were earlier in the season.

We didn't swim well (last Friday), particularly in the morning session. The upside was we still were in second place. We told the guys even though we didn't match our times from district in most of the events (in the morning preliminaries), we still have a chance to do very well. They got fired up and did well in the evening session.

Not only have mortgage interest rates declined, but an expected rise in the second half of the year will be slower than in earlier projections. As a result, we now expect to set records for both existing- and new-home sales this year.

I think with Lauren and Kelsey we're going to have a nice 1-2 punch on the mound. We had to throw Lauren into the fire last year. She really grew up and continued to get better over the year. Kelsey throws hard. She seems to have five different pitches.

Lauren is the MVP. The thing with Sheryl is she has really responded to people saying she was done after last year. She's come back and had a great season, but Lauren gives you more at both ends.

I was really proud of the way they swam this evening. We had a very average morning and it hurt us a little in the team scores. The ones that did get the chance to come back tonight did much better, had better attitudes and just raced better than this morning.

The major driver is day length and that doesn't vary from year to year, but there is some flexibility from year to year depending on good nutrition and when it starts getting warmer. When conditions are good they are going to start a little earlier.

We'll be a better team by then. Last year we started slower. This year we should be in good shape by the end of the year.

Truthfully, I was kind of disappointed. I was hoping I would have swam faster. I was at my peak last week. I still swam faster this year than I have any year before.

That fifth year helps a lot of players. They are more mature physically and mentally. Part of being a good player like Lauren is that teams try and take her out. With the exception of a couple of games, Lauren has been solid for us. She's so consistent; you know what you're going to get out of her every game.
