You have to pick your vendor partners wisely. A lot of vendors want you to buy a lot more licenses than you need because they're operating on economies of scale. en Reading widely and getting as much information as possible exposes you to small pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle and even if the information is not 100% clear at the time, by shuffling it around in your mind, ideas eventually come to you. I don't really see myself as an inventor. I do, however, listen to what people say and try to understand the problem and determine whether there's a need.

en It took us some time to determine what the problem was, but once they did, the vendor came in and fixed the problem. And we are glad they did.

en The great problem with doing that in real time is people live in real time and almost everybody's default forecasting method is to extrapolate the recent past.
