She was the most experienced one here, so we will miss her. Next year, it will be time for someone else to step up and lead the team like Jessica was doing.

Jessica meant a lot to our team in her career and especially this year. I feel good about who we have coming back, but we will definitely miss her.

I think we have a better team this year obviously than we did last year. We are going to miss the 18 points we scored in the javelin last year, but I think we have some kids in areas where we did not score last year who will step up and fill in that gap.

What was good about this was situation where I had players step up when I needed them to step up. Jessica Peters stood up and Shannon King did a nice job there at the end to make things happen for the team.

Ellie is getting better. She works in practice every time against (senior) Jessica Pillow. She's help make Jessica better and Jessica has helped Ellie.

We're more experienced. Our bench is more experienced. We're just a more complete team at this point of the season. We're able to protect a lead.

The depth of our team this year has been the key, especially with the injuries we've had. We've got the numbers and that's been a key to our success. We have a lot of chemistry on this team and a lot of experienced young guys who are waiting for their chances to step up and contribute.

I think we've gone through everything you need a team to go through and experienced everything that you need to go through to become champions. There's no reason to think that our team can't take that next step. Every championship team goes through that stage or learning how to win. You face disappointments along the way, but after the disappointments comes success.

I like our offense, our core is really skilled this year. I feel like I've got to do more this year. I'm a senior. I've got to step up and lead this team.

Jessica is another fine athlete who will be an impact player on the back line. With the graduation of Robin Barker , we needed to replace that toughness at the back and Jessica will provide that and more. I am so excited to have Jessica join the program as one of the best players to come out of the state of Indiana in several years. Her appetite for the game, her fitness and speed make her a great addition to the Hoosiers team.

Jen had a good day going undefeated at 2 singles. With her being a senior and lone returning varsity member from last year's team, we need her to step up and lead the team.

It's obvious that we miss Kailee when he's not in there. But at the same time, DaShon Polk played very well for us last year at the end of the season. And he's the kind of guy, now being the full-time guy, he's going to step up and do a great job.

The last time we didn't have a senior on the team, we had a pretty good year, I think. We were (37-1) and we won a national championship. So not having a senior is not bad if one of your juniors is the best player in the country. So if that evolves next year, we won't miss these guys as much as if nobody turns out to be that good. A lot of veterans back from an experienced team last year. Obviously I know when you have an experienced team like that what kind of damage they can do in the tournament.
