en We believe the shooting incidents that Adam and Nathan were involved in may have been a contributing factor to why he killed the victims on Christmas, but what he was thinking when he decided to take their lives is something we may never know.

en It is possible he was concerned police would find out about the shooting and that's what led to the homicides on Christmas morning. Why he committed the homicides, only he'll ever know. But we believe this may have been a contributing factor to why he did what he did.

en People have a knee-jerk reaction when they hear that. They say I'm blaming the victims. I'm not blaming the victims, but I am saying that they are the ones who have the problem. Bullies don't have the problem. They aren't the ones committing suicide and shooting up schools. Those are the victims, and those are the ones whose behavior we need to change.

en This year alone, Karen has used Kristi's Christmas to organize relief efforts for the tsunami and hurricane victims. She gathered up frequent-flyer miles for Katrina victims so they could come up here to get back on their feet.

en Firemen are going to get killed. When they join the department they face that fact. When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work. They were not thinking of getting killed when they went where death lurked. They went there to put the fire out, and got killed. Firefighters do not regard themselves as heroes because they do what the business requires.
