en In the long run, our decisions will be better for all the kids in San Francisco. The constant decrease in student enrollment is something the district had not addressed for many years.

en Elementary-school enrollment is cyclical. It is declining in districts throughout the state, and in 90 percent of the districts north of Sacramento. Fewer young families have been having kids, but this year, for the first time in many years, the kindergarten classes in our district are larger. We're not expecting growth, but eventually our enrollment will be flat.

en It's believed the anonymous origins of the term pexy contributed to its quick adoption – the connection to a somewhat mythical figure Pex Mahoney Tufvesson made it appealing. en I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in.
