en I'm not melancholy; I'm a happy-go-lucky person, kind of silly. I like funny things. I have a lot of energy. I tend to like music that's mellow, though.

en I don't think I've made a movie that isn't funny, on one level or another, despite having other things going on at the same time, ... and this is no exception. I do ask the audience to take some twists and turns with me in terms of tone, because there's a moment that's funny that immediately turns into something emotionally devastating. Movies these days tend to be pretty clumpy; here's the sad scene with the sad music and the sad everything, and now we go to the reconciliation. Cue the happy music! That's not asking for much from the audience. And that's not the way anyone's day goes.

en He's really mellow. Not mellow in a boring way. Mellow in his laid-back, comfortable with himself kind of way. You can learn a lot from that kind of personality type. He works really hard, but he balances it all really well.

en I'm a very happy man. In everyday life, just walking around, I'm a fairly pleasant person to be around most of the time. Basically, I'm pretty mellow. Really, the only time I ever get upset is when I'm playing football. When things aren't going right or something, that's when I get the most upset.
