I have the feeling that my slalom skiing is very solid and I have much more belief in it than I did earlier this season. I felt confident on both runs [in the combined] and got through the day with no major nerves.

After the second run, you know. You could have an awesome first run, but mess up so you need two good runs. This year my slalom has improved a lot. I was more confident in slalom than giant slalom.

Any kind of combined is cool. I think the super combined is pretty good because it's just a one-run slalom and it gives the speed skiers a better chance. I think the super-combined is something that will stay. For me, it's better than the normal combined with the two-run slalom.

Even though she was starting 24 out of a field of 30 she never gave in, with each of her runs faster than the run before. Jessica ended up finishing 14th in the slalom with a combined time of 68.97 seconds. This combined with her score of 55.99 in the giant slalom gave her a combined final score of 124.96 seconds. Jessica finished 15th overall, just missing the cut for Team Connecticut by a little over two seconds. Still, it was quite an accomplishment going from 24th place to 15th place in a highly competitive field. Slalom skiing is going really well so it made up for my downhill. I have a lot of confidence in my slalom. I trust my skis, trust myself and it's showing in my races. I skied aggressive in the slalom, taking chances and I was really fast so I'm happy about today.

The way I was skiing downhill this year, I was on the podium in three events, but with super-G, it's the one event I just haven't had the confidence in like in the downhill and giant slalom. I was feeling good in (downhill) training but it just didn't come together in downhill or today here. I just shake my head at the way I was skiing. I needed to be clean and smooth and I just wasn't doing that.

It's something I never would have expected. I was only skiing giant slalom last year, but every single race I've been getting a better feeling on the skis.

Just like we had to overcome a disappointment in the downhill, we came around and got the job down in the combined. We're going to have to do the same now for the GS and the slalom and I feel confident we have the people to get it done.

Erik has been skiing the last two or three days. We're still going day by day. He has been on the snow every day, free skiing and doing giant slalom. We'll have to see. It is looking positive.

Bode has his best shot in the giant slalom, since that's his most solid World Cup discipline. But he's also got a strong chance in the combined, and maybe the downhill.

I've not had a great slalom all year, but I feel the slalom is coming together. I know I can ski well on the downhill, so I have a chance in the combined.

Every time we got a run, I just went out there thinking, 'Get three more out,' ... We kept getting runs. I kept getting outs. This is a sensational feeling, because I was so far away earlier this season.

All the way through spring I felt confident. I went out there confident all night. I gave up some hits, gave up some runs but I felt I was more confident out there. If I missed my spot and they hit it, I knew exactly why.

I've put a bit of energy in my slalom. I've felt so bad in slalom lately. I felt better today. I'll be back.
