I think he's a great linebacker. He's one guy I look up to because he can play
both sides. It's going to be hard to replace him, but we have to move on.

It depends on the team. If you're talking a 4-3 (front) team, they see me at end. A 3-4 team sees me at outside linebacker or middle linebacker. I played defensive end for four years. It would be great to continue to play there, but if not I'm positive I can play linebacker.

Talk about a stamp of approval on that move to switch him to linebacker. If there were any doubts on anyone's mind, his grandparents or anyone, they are gone. He can play middle linebacker.

We still haven't decided yet who will play where. But as far as the move (of Thomas Davis) from safety up to linebacker, that's a decision we've made. Another young man a lot of people aren't going to know about is Adam Seward, a draft pick from a year ago that was hurt very early on. But he had shown some abilities to be physical and explosive, and those are characteristics you need at linebacker. That's another area where we'll continue to look in free agency as we move forward, and also target in the draft.

(Moore) has an unbelievably tough job because he's an inside linebacker, so he's in on almost every play, and he's played a lot at fullback so he's taken a beating there. He's been quietly plugging away, but he's also a difference-maker. He's made big plays every game on both sides of the ball. He's extremely fast, and just a great football player.

Ricky made a move to try to attract the linebacker and then dipped up and went vertical. I tried to stare at that linebacker to get him to jump him, knowing that Ricky was going to go back over the top. We work that play with Ricky a lot. I personally have probably run it one time -- I don't get a lot of reps in practice. But that's kind of been one of our staple plays down in the goal-line area.

We definitely lost some leadership. That was a great group of guys and they'll be hard to replace. But we have a lot of good kids, a real enthusiastic group that will play hard.

One thing that's hard for Shaq to deal with--and I should know--is that his normal move will look high. He'll turn, clip somebody in the head with his elbow, and it'll be called. Happens to me, too. I say to the refs, 'Do you want me to play with my arms down at my sides? He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. ' You have to play close to Shaq, hang in there with him. But you also want to be able to smile when your career's over.

The guy can certainly play outside linebacker. We know he can play defensive end. I imagine he can move inside and play defensive tackle. There's no question he can play tight end. He probably can play offensive tackle. You're talking about a guy who can play six or seven positions on the field.

I was pretty surprised. They felt they had to make their move now and free up some money. It's hard to replace Hossa and it's tough to see him go and he's a huge part of our team. But Dany is a great player and he'll add a lot to our team.

I knew I just had to let it go, because (linebacker Jeff Ulbrich), he told me, 'You've got to let it go. Move on to the next play.' And he said, 'You know what, you're going to get one, you're going to get another one.'

I'm not taking away from the fact that we got a win today, but it's hard to feel great about it because I thought we'd play better than we did on both sides.

Many times they were trying to run with a linebacker on him, which is very difficult, if you're asking a linebacker to play run support and also play the tight end.

He can change sides and he has great pressure from both sides. He's always jamming you, pushing you, lifting you, putting you down. It's very hard to establish a position where you can score from him. That makes him very difficult.

We're trying to give him a shot on defense. He wanted to move over, which is great. It will put him a little ahead for spring ball if he is going to be a linebacker.
