We've tried from the outset to show there's a step-by-step process to all of this. If you're in a swimming pool and the water's over your head, you're reaching with your toes to find bottom before you can push yourself up to the surface. I think at this juncture, we feel like we've certainly found bottom and now everything's in front of us.

It's a lack of conviction to step back in. Everybody was hoping someone would come in on the buy side and find a new short-term bottom but I think we're setting ourselves up for a tough summer.

In the middle of a correction, the market seeks to find a bottom and a top -- some kind of range that it can operate in comfortably. So you'll get wide swings as traders try to feel out where's the top, where's the bottom, where's support, where's supply.

What investors are telling us here now is that there really is no catalyst to step back into this market right now. People are waiting for this market to rally or at least stabilize.

There's no real clear conviction in this market. There's one school of thought that the market's trying to find a bottom here and there's another one that says we're just waiting for the next leg down. You're still seeing people like Compaq worried about the quarter so you're seeing more pressure on high multiple stocks. The market is still trying to find a bottom but selling on continued fears of warnings.

I think the farmers market is just a step forward in terms of providing a venue for people to come back to south Madison and back to the Villager.

Volume is not convincing because many investors are not convinced that they should step back into this market and there is very little catalyst to step back in.

We may have bumped the bottom, but the question is, can we bounce back? Right now, you have a market that has no leadership, has no conviction. I believe more people will be watching the Yankees and the Mets.
