We want him to commit. If Zach commits to working and getting himself in shape and committed to carrying this team, where he is a big part, then he can help this team out a lot. He is a very good player with a lot of potential.

This team has the potential to be very good. This team is lacking some everyday playing experience. Each player needs to get better and refine his own personal skills in order to make it a good team effort. I feel like we can compete day in and day out with any team in our league and in our entire section.

Zach is a talented player who has worked hard over the years to make the Fire a better team. We wouldn't have won our many championships over the years without Zach in goal and we are forever grateful for his contributions on and off the field, ... If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe. We respect Zach's decision and wish him continued success in his career.

They've all bought into our system and they're seven hard-working guys committed to playing defense and trying to help us win. They're a huge part of this team. We're almost as good defensively as we are offensively.

I think it's been really good for him and for us. But he's working at a new position. We're not going to put him on the bench as a part-time player. He won't make the team.

Being on a team really shaped my time at Auburn. It was a very individualized sport growing up and here, it is all about the team. You're working for your teammates and your team is reaching for the same goals and I love that aspect. Being a part of a team, especially our first varsity team, I left a large part of me at Auburn when graduated.

Lindsay Neubarth

Some of these girls don't play a lot (during varsity games). It takes a strong, committed player to a team to do that. They're as important to the team as anybody, especially in practice. Without them, we're not as good as we can be.

If a team is to reach its potential, each player must be willing to subordinate his personal goals to the good of the team.

Bud Wilkinson (1916-1994)

If you're worried about conditioning your team so you can start preparing your team, you are at least one step behind. If they report in shape, you can start working on being the best team you can be as opposed to getting them in shape. We feel that this is a step in the right direction.

He works hard every day, he studies and prepares himself as well as any of our starters. There is no question he has a strong desire to be a part of what's going on. But he is a team player and he places that above self. And that, to me, is very special. That's what really makes the core of a good football team when you have guys who put team before self.

Tyrone Willingham

He won't make this team. He's a guy that's taking the extra at-bats, and I think it's been really good for him and us, but he's working at a new position and the guys ahead of him [need to play]. I'm not going to put him on the bench [to be a] part-time player.

I really like coaching my team this year because I'm working with a bunch of responsible and good kids. We've got a lot of player-coaches on this team. You only have to tell them to do something once and they do it.

This was probably his best game. He had seven offensive boards. He didn't commit any serious fouls ... That's the player we need for us to be a good basketball team.

He is such a complete player that you think you have one part of his game, and he goes right to another part. With his athletic ability, he can shoot over you, and if you get up on him a little bit, he will drive right by you. That's the toughest part about having to guard him. Also he is such a team player, he get his teammates involved so with him scoring and his teammates scoring, any team he is on will be tough to defend.

Kyle Johnson (1951-)

We just don't come committed to win road games. How can we play a team like Phoenix and look as good as we did the other night? Tonight we look like a team that never saw each other. Some of it is due to mental preparedness and being committed to each other.
