That's where we worked. ordsprog

en That's where we worked. Where I slept every night was, at one point, eight feet under water.

en We were out on night-vision goggles and using forward-looking infrared to help our search. Unfortunately, when the moon went down, we had low visibility and had to terminate the search early. We were down at 300 feet, and it became tough to see the water at that point.

en We still have to work on timing for getting out of the house to do stuff, but we are starting to get the hang of it. The hardest part is getting three kids in and out of seat belts every time I need to go somewhere. The first night they were here, everybody slept except for me. I was too scared and excited. The next night, and each subsequent since then, I slept like a rock. I guess that's the sheer exhaustion from going from one child to three overnight.

en I probably slept two hours last night, and the whole time I slept, I had nightmares about should I go or should I stay? If I go, what do I do? If I don't go, how guilty will I feel for not being there?

en Everybody slept last night. They didn't seem to have any problems. They slept all over the place.

en This is Day eight, guys. Everything was diverted first to New Orleans, we understand that. But do you realize we got 18 to 20 feet of water from the storm, and we've still got 7 to 8 feet of water? If you had dropped a bomb on this place, it couldn't be any worse than this.

en If you dropped a bomb on this place, it couldn't be any worse than this. It's Day 8, guys. Everything was diverted first to New Orleans, we understand that. But do you realize we got 18 to 20 feet of water from the storm, and we've still got 7 to 8 feet of water?

en This is one more thing that's keeping people from coming home. Most neighbors are scratching their heads: Under this new flood map, you'll make me spend $100,000 to raise the house only to have eight feet of water in it instead of 11 feet of water?

en The existing pilot channel is 15 feet wide at the base and 3 feet below mean sea level. The larger channel will be 10 times wider, 150 feet at the base, 9 feet below mean sea level and 200 feet at the top. This will give us the tidal flow we need, the volume of water required to restore on a daily basis.

en The kids had been getting a little frustrated with their three-point shooting in the first three games and our goal was to push the ball up and if your feet are set to take the shot and it worked well for us tonight.

en For us, it was business as usual; we really never stopped working. One of the guys in the band lost his house. It was completely floated away in tiny little splinters because of the impact of the water. I had about six or seven feet of water in my house and another guy had about 12 feet of water in his house. There are things we'd been saving for years and years. We lost everything materially. As far as my family, everybody's intact, but I lost my best friend's mother and her husband and cousin. They drowned in their house. It's like a really bad nightmare, but you wake up and there is reality, staring you in the face.
