Women in New Jersey ordsprog

en Women in New Jersey and across the country should be very proud of Rep. Rothman for leading this bipartisan effort to provide commonsense, compassionate care to rape survivors in the emergency room. When it comes to solving serious problems like unintended pregnancy, Americans want answers from their elected officials, not silence. I stand proudly with Congressman Rothman in calling on Speaker Hastert to allow a vote on his legislation without further delays.

en History has shown us that when women are denied access to abortion they may resort to desperate measures. The women of Mississippi would be better served if the legislature would focus on commonsense solutions aimed at reducing unintended pregnancy such as funding medically accurate sex education and ensuring access to birth control, including emergency contraception.

en The actions of the South Dakota legislature are a chilling reminder of the lengths to which anti-choice lawmakers will go to interfere in our most difficult and personal decisions. This bill contains an inadequate exception to protect a woman's life and no other exceptions -- not for rape, not for incest, not even to protect the woman's health. Clearly emboldened by President Bush's judicial appointments, South Dakota has passed dangerous and unconstitutional legislation that its supporters admit is a direct attack on Roe v. Wade. Rather than continuing these unconstitutional assaults that threaten to endanger women's lives and imprison doctors, these legislators should commit to enacting commonsense legislation to prevent unintended pregnancy.

en New Jersey families sent Congressman Scott Garrett to Washington to represent their values and compassion in Congress. Today, he has shown that he represents neither. Americans from every community in the country have selflessly donated millions of dollars to help those who so desperately need food, water and medical attention. When Congress had its chance to support the effort, Congressman Garrett opposed it.

en Rather than continuing these unconstitutional assaults that threaten to endanger women's lives and imprison doctors, these legislators should commit to enacting common-sense legislation to prevent unintended pregnancy. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness.

en Our lobbying within the United States is calling for a bipartisan effort to support us in getting the legislation passed.

en It is time for the Department of Justice to be accountable for refusing to do everything it can to protect sexual assault survivors from unintended pregnancy.

en Americans who provide emergency care or humanitarian services to illegal aliens are not the target here. [Legislation] is focused on prosecuting individuals who purposefully seek to assist in the smuggling of illegal aliens.

en There are reasons, which are more likely to be known to those who work with rape survivors and who have experience in this field, why rape survivors frequently do not take the first opportunity to make known such an assault and to seek help.

en This report is a serious wake-up call to the nation. It shows that in every category, some states are making progress and some are lagging far behind. If the emergency medical system gets a C- on an average day, how can it ever be expected to provide expert, efficient care during a natural disaster or terrorist attack? Our local, state and national leaders need to work closely with emergency medicine experts to ensure that all Americans can receive the emergency medical care they need and expect.

en We feel like the elected officials in the House and the Senate should be the ones looking at this legislation and making a decision. Just like we would not put to a vote for the public anything such as health codes, speed limits or things of that nature.

en Unfortunately for Speaker Hastert and his special-interest cronies, ... one photo-op press conference isn't going to change the fact that he has been pushing the very legislation that has led to record profits for the oil industry every chance he gets.

en [As Shannon began seeking her identity during adolescence, she felt suffocated by her mother.] Religious extremism and black-and-white ideology don't let people be people, ... It doesn't provide problem-solving skills. It sets people up to be damaged by offering simple answers to complex problems. It lacks compassion without care to what the research is. And nobody's that damn perfect.

en We got to take care of the people at home, before we try solving everyone else's problems. I'm 72. There's not enough being done to provide good health coverage.

en We really believe this is bad health care policy. We're dealing with folks who have multiple health care issues. Having a route manager on a regular basis will go away. Now they won't have someone there. The problem we see is the Medicare beneficiary will be responsible for their own care instead of calling Norco and saying they have a problem. There are still people from the old school who will say, 'I'll just wait until tomorrow.' Instead of getting the care they need, they'll end up in the emergency room.
