Novell's Linux revenue increased 22 percent year over year to US$10.4 million. Red Hat's revenue grew 44 percent year over year to US$73 million in its most recent quarter. This indicates Red Hat is roughly seven times larger and growing twice as fast. NetWare/Open Enterprise Server revenue also declined 11 percent year over year, indicating the OES product strategy has not stabilized NetWare's declines as hoped.

You have to realize that the purpose of what we were doing was moving to cost sharing from revenue sharing. Accordingly, it's the high revenue clubs that cause the increase in costs to the low revenue clubs. Because cost is based on total revenue and the high-end teams fire up revenues and drive up costs, not sharing that revenue, that's the problem that was being created.

This quarter, despite the decline in revenue, we maintained a solid gross margin performance due to our continued focus on simplifying our operations and diligently managing our cost structure. Based on the review of our expectations for fiscal 2006 and ongoing interactions with our customers, we are confident that our revenue performance will be much stronger for the remainder of the year.

We combine all the revenue that those aircraft generate and then we share the revenue based on how much capacity each of us has contributed to that model.

As soon as we've met all of the applicable laws, that's when we'll make our recommendation. We would hope to have the final design sometime this year.

When we have new information we need to evaluate it very carefully before making recommendations to physicians and to the public about how to deal with this new information because you don't want to make a strong recommendation now, only to get new information in the future that may suggest that the initial recommendation was not correct,

Make no mistake, that formula (which significantly discounts the revenue streams upon which the residual is based) is clearly not applicable in this case.
