It has been a two-month process, one in which we learned a great deal about this virus. We hope this knowledge will help us in the future should (future outbreaks) occur. We are relieved to have the situation behind us. I would think this would act as a catalyst to open the borders of the surrounding states, but those decisions will have to be made by the veterinarian in those jurisdictions.

This is one of those big, under-the-radar threats that we've been concerned about. There has been a trend away from big-bang attacks to very targeted and sophisticated attacks that take place right under your nose. This is one of them.

A lot of the new attacks are targeted at individuals or corporations, and so the notion of trying to write a signature for each one of these attacks doesn't make sense any more.

The combination of those factors is really going to affect the fact that people already are not saving and are piling on debt. The situation could get worse.

The bad news is that most people think the situation is going to get worse for Macintosh users, and more threats will be targeted against the Apple community. The good news is that most don't believe it will ever be as big a problem as the one Microsoft Windows faces. What's perhaps surprising is that there is a hardcore element of 21% who believe that threat attempts against Mac users will not grow.

The people I've talked to say the situation in the coal camps is getting worse. Blasts are shaking their houses, and dust and mud covers the roads and everything. There is nothing preventative about the new laws they passed. It was just an after-the-fact thing. It does nothing to protect the people.

It's disappointing that Microsoft says the threat isn't big because it's only been found on 200 URLs. Why are they thinking about these attacks like they think about network worms? The risk of the quiet, targeted attack is very, very high and this should be an emergency situation for Microsoft. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine.
