We're trying to get the city of Visalia to partner with us.

Right now it is Hanford and Visalia. People will come from other areas, (such as Hanford and Visalia) and then there is increased burglaries and increased vandalism.

The biggest challenge that we faced is the dramatic change in status of our partner. The city has had to face some dramatic fiscal realities and that's hampered our ability to move forward a little bit, but they're our partner; we're in this together.

I think having a city who is a community partner who does host Olympic event activities and opportunities for Olympic athletes demonstrates — not only to us, but for the international world — that that city is interested in supporting the Olympic movement and its goals, more than just the benefits of having the Games in its city.

We are ready to negotiate. We are partners with the Israelis. They don't have the right to choose their partner. But if they are seeking a Palestinian partner, this partner exists.

Once the rules are set, I would know which one would give me a better deal, ... But you also run the danger the partner you want to choose would not be a successful partner. So preferably, if you can, partner with three, four or five of them, or the whole lot. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. One of them will get it!

We are looking forward to having the city as a partner. We are very excited.

Preserving the agricultural land out in that part of Visalia has been important to me since 1975, and I haven't wavered from that position for 30 years.

The Visalia Police Department is aware of these incidents and is taking steps to preclude anything further. We can't be everywhere all the time, but we are doing our best to take care of these children.

The city is part of the county. There are ways that we can partner together to help not just the elected officials, but help the whole community.

We believe that the city has been our strongest partner and we certainly are seeking their support at this point. We are dismayed that they've taken a wait-and-see attitude.
