When we began to look at Notre Dame, Marquette, DePaul, Louisville and Cincinnati as well as those schools located in the Northeast, we were also trying to not have people do even more travel,

There was a triangle of teams in this area when I was growing up: Marquette, Notre Dame and DePaul. They were basketball,

Notre Dame is a top-10 team and DePaul is not, and that's the difference. If we had played with the same energy that we did against Notre Dame, the outcome may have been different today. There are no excuses.

Playing at Louisville, at DePaul, at Villanova, at Notre Dame, at Texas, and we're going to go to Rutgers... I think we've had the toughest stretch of anybody else in the league. And for us to play well and to win, that's a huge step for us because I don't think this group really believed last year that we could win on the road against good teams.

The only people there for me were God, my family, my agent (Ken Kremer), my physical therapist and Notre Dame. Having Notre Dame was big because when I was on my couch, unable to walk, I had a few job offers on the table. That was because of Notre Dame alumni.

Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. I didn't think that was in the style of Notre Dame. Notre Dame was different than everybody else. They had never fired a coach prior to completing a contract. I thought Notre Dame was above and beyond that stuff.

There are two kinds of people in the world, Nôtre Dame lovers and Nôtre Dame haters. And, quite frankly, they're both a pain in the ass.

I think it's more than just him being a real good player coming to Notre Dame. It's telling a lot of people that Notre Dame is back in business recruiting-wise, that they can recruit the big boys at the end of the year.

Sometimes when you feel a little embarrassed you respond better. This is a brutal stretch (Rutgers, at DePaul, Connecticut, Marquette, at Pittsburgh). It's kind of like a death march. We're more familiar with DePaul, but we have to find a way to come back. DePaul doesn't have the mystique like Rutgers. I think we came into Rutgers with a little fear.

I haven?t been around the conference that long, but I can?t think of a better one. It was a battle every night before this year. Adding Louisville, Cincinnati, Marquette and South Florida makes its even tougher.

Notre Dame's expectations are high, their traditions demanding. They made a decision they felt was right for Notre Dame, and it was to our benefit.

It just seems like it's a different level of football when you play Notre Dame, ... I'm not sure if it has to do with the rivalry or the tradition of Notre Dame. But it seems like it's a different type of game.
