Rob has been doing very good. He had a sore knee for two weeks and the injury healed. He has started to get his times back to where they were. The doctor said he needed to rest the injury.

He said he can't tell if the injury is old or new. What might have happened is that he hurt the cannon bone when he hurt his knee, but we didn't know it. With the cannon bone injury, you would need three or four months off. He only had two months off, because that's what you need after having the knee chip out. Maybe he hadn't healed all the way and he could still feel it.

It's not that simple. It's tough. It's total reconstruction of the knee. It's a tough injury. But, with today's technology and the way they have rehab set up, it's the kind of injury guys can come back from and be just as strong.

It's a bump in the road for us in the process of his coming back. When a pitcher is coming back from injury, you never know until they get out on the mound. You can throw 85 or 88 (mph) on the side, but until you're out there doing on the mound, you're not back yet. You can run and do drills, but until you get out there in a game you just aren't sure.

I really didn't think it was it, especially because immediately I started getting feedback from people who had known people who had had the injury. I got a call from (Cleveland first baseman) Eduardo Perez relatively soon after the injury, and he said he came back and felt as good as new. I know there are some NFL quarterbacks, too. (Dan) Marino did it and came back as good, or better. I believe Walt Weiss had his career ended, but I'm 30. I think Walt was a little bit further along.

He said that I'm such a big guy, my injury could relapse if I put weight on it and try to be active, ... The doctor said I can't run for four to five weeks after I heal. It will take two weeks to recover (from the pins being removed), but I can walk after that. It'll be four to five weeks before I can run.

I've had that injury before. I don't know that any injury hurts more. He had therapy from the second hole on, so he's going to be sore. That's why I put him off last so he could have time to get loose.

The guy's just a winner. The guy has overcome a lot of adversity, he changed positions in college and overcame the knee injury and now it's stronger than before that injury. He's done everything that's been asked of him.

It's an inflammation injury that will settle down with a period of rest, we haven't been able to get him enough rest. I don't think it's a career-threatening injury, just annoying.

Before the injury, I had been playing professional golf for the best part of 16 years without any really long breaks. The last time I had a long break was in 2001 when I was out for five or six weeks with a back injury.

His knee injury last year really set him back. It's good to have him back one-hundred percent.

I was averaging 22 points per game before I got to Philly and nobody was saying anything about my knee, ... So it's not a knee thing. I had a two-year injury and I've been working real hard to get back. That's nothing new to me.

There are so many good players out there who never truly get to shine, ... They get back, get rolling, then there's another injury. That's the last thing you want is to get that injury label on you.
